Penlink O Mahurangi Flyover – August 2026

Take to the skies in our latest Penlink O Mahurangi flyover and see progress across the new highway.

Stretching over 7km between Whangaparāoa Road and State Highway 1, north of Auckland, this new connection will create a more resilient transport network. It will help people get where they need to be faster, support economic growth in the region, and improve connections to new housing developments.

This flyover offers an aerial view of the project, much of which remains hidden from public view. You’ll see the emerging highway alignment across rolling terrain, bridge structures taking shape, and a clearer picture of the new highway as the project transitions from bulk earthworks into pavement construction, where teams are beginning to build the road itself.

  1. This is taking too long, it looks like 2 to 3 years away from being finished. The one lane bridge each way is crazy, especially as the bridge is taking forever to build. NZ should consider how it funds, resources and delivers these projects. Most other countries would have completed this in half the time.
