The ebike struck the car and fell under it. The car did not strike the ebike.

In these messed up times, it is so good to see people rise up and help a perfect stranger! And we really don’t need any negative and judgmental comments about what happened. Just embrace the positive energy from this and maybe learn from it.
All the licenses and helmets in the world don't prevent accidents. Let's not start another money maker for the government, if that's the way we want to go then I demand bicycle lanes! EVERYWHERE. This was not a youth below 16 on an E-Bike. By the way, a VW beetle is not that heavy. Hooray for the lifters and best wishes to the bicyclist.
A blinker would have been nice. Ebikes are supposed to stay to the far right even when you can keep up with traffic. But why did people stop using blinkers to let others know their intent. I get it the cyclist should have guessed at the drivers intent. But still the only law broken here was failure to signal. On regular bikes thiis nearly happens all the time. If i can keep up with traffic on my e scooters i ride in the lane.

If the person was on a regular bike the same thing would have happened this is not just e-bikes

Wow people need to be more vigilant for people on bikes like these drivers are distracted an not paying attention you wonder why you don't see much biked on the road just drive an pay attention stop the distraction
Why did the cop arriving not rushing to help those trying to lift the car and free the bicyclist instead he was walking nonchalantly towards the scene. I still don’t understand because for the most part in general cops are ready rushing and help people in these difficult situations
Wonderful people you are true hero's. To be fair I didn't see a turn signal on the car also the should have been checking his mirror's and turning their head for their blind spots. I believe they both were at fault.

E-bike rider is clearly at fault here…she didnt follow the rules of the road and tried to pass on the right of a turning vehicle. Tragedy but bicyclists are required to follow vehicular law for exactly this reason.

This editorializing is crazy… A car driver hits a cyclist and it's the cyclists fault? Car brain is such a disease. Cars kill at least 45,000 Americans every year, not ebikes. Maybe just report the facts next time??
100% ebike rider's fault! Stuff like this makes the rest of us who obey traffic laws look extremely bad! So glad they help though cause it could have been a lot worse! Wear a helmet cause you only have the one brain AND obey the traffic laws!!
Whenever something happens, i.e., irresponsible rider, crashes her ebike, someone immediately starts promoting new law,,, we DON'T need any more frigging laws or taxes

Glad she's going to be okay. We live in a time where women will freely say they don't need men. If everyone involved was a women i don't think they could've got this done. Secondly, not one man interviewed or congratulated. SMH
The problem here isn't that it was an eBike. She could have just as easily made the same mistake on a pedal bike.
