Applicable ASE Education Foundation (NATEF) tasks:

Diagnose clutch noise, binding, slippage, pulsation, and chatter; determine needed action.
Inspect clutch pedal linkage, cables, automatic adjuster mechanisms, brackets, bushings, pivots, and springs; perform needed action.
Inspect and/or replace clutch pressure plate assembly, clutch disc, release (throw-out) bearing, linkage, and pilot bearing/bushing (as applicable).
Bleed clutch hydraulic system.
Check and adjust clutch master cylinder fluid level; check for leaks; use proper fluid type per manufacturer specification.
Inspect flywheel and ring gear for wear, cracks, and discoloration; determine needed action.
Measure flywheel runout and crankshaft end play; determine needed action.

  1. Hydrolic coupling'de debriyaja gerek yok. Aynı mantık. Fakat güç aktarımı mekanik yerine yağ ile olduğu için sistem kendi kendine uyumu yakalıyor. Problem solved forever.

  2. Can someone explain, when the clutch pedal is pressed, does the clutch disk get pulled away from the flywheel to release the friction? If so how does it get pulled back? Because if the clutch disk is bolted to the pressure plate, then the disk always rotates…

  3. – Question: With clutch up, foot off the pedal (car in neutral) Is the thrust bearing totally separated from the pressure plate spring fingers? Or is the bearing (inner race) in contact with the spring fingers and spinning all the time. 
    – Reason I ask, is I have a "whirring" sound when clutch pedal is NOT depressed, and it stops when I push clutch pedal in.  
    – My friend says the noise is coming from the throw out bearing (worn out) because it's always spinning and the spring fingers touch and spin throwout bearings inner race – and has to to this way, because suddenly spinning the thro out bearing from a dead stop each time will tear it up – The shop says it's my front bearing in the trans. Help. Thanks.
