An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a Los Angeles Metro light-rail train in the Highland Park neighborhood early Thursday morning.

Most Likely Suicide
There was 2 Suicides 3 years ago in the same day involving trains, one in South Pasadena (19 years old woman) and the Other one a few miles south involving an older guy

The whole concept of trains running through neighborhood streets is insane. Many of the train crossings give you only seconds of notice before the gates come down. There have been way too many accidents with people and cars. The Southwest Museum Station allows you to walk across the tracks in between trains and is not safe!!!!
So many people [suicide] nowadays; didn't 2 got killed recently while jog near the train track?
Let's face it, a pedestrian is hit by a train because they wanted to be, no way that train snuck up on them. Is there such a thing as complete situational awareness? Condolences to their family and friends.
