Deep stall (or parachutal stall) on four different paragliders: EN-A, EN-B, EN-C and an acro wing. Same maneuver, four very different reactions.
⚠️ Deep stalls are best learned in an SIV course and not over ground.
I fly the Advance Alpha 8, the Advance Theta ULS, the Advance Tau DLS and the
Advance Omikron and try to hold each one in the deep stall for as long as I can.
The interesting part is not the maneuver itself, it is how differently each wing
behaves once you are in there.
In this video:
• What a deep stall actually is: not flying forward, not flying backwards, the point in between
• Why it is so sensitive: weight shift, releasing one hand, brake line symmetry
• EN-A Alpha 8: the easiest one to find and hold
• EN-B Theta ULS: why a light wing fights you the whole time and simply is not built for this
• EN-C Tau DLS: why it holds the deep stall better than the Theta, and I honestly do not know why
• Acro wing Omikron: what it looks like on a wing made for exactly this
• The full stall to flyback to deep stall combo and why you learn the most from it
• The one round test: hold it from top to bottom and you are ready for the helico
• Bonus: using deep stall and flyback to clear cravats and tension knots
And a question to you: I keep getting comments that deep stall is the wrong word
and that it should be parachutal. I am honestly not sure which one is correct.
Tell me in the comments.

Serious question and I mean it: is it deep stall or parachutal? I get told both
in the comments and I still do not know which one is right. Explain it to me 👇
I'd be interested to know what the sizes/flying weights were for each of those wings, it looked like the Alpha stalled really easily, much more than I would expect. I did an SIV with Max Martini on my EN-A (PHI Symphonia 2), and the stall point was very heavy on the brakes and very low below the seatboard, almost unreachable for me even with a half-wrap
Dude thank for the video. seeing before other vids in deep stalls but this one comes with more detail. Keep Up the Good Work.
The landings are more impressive than those stalls.
what is the sink rate in the deep stall??? thanks for sharing
Great video, thanks!
Perfect groundspiral with all gliders
Congrats🎉
