It's not really competing with the A400M. A400M is classed as medium but really does lighter heavy airlift work. It's much less versatile and way more expensive if you look at just lift capability to cost ratio – and that's just purchase cost. It's beaten in running costs too. Millennium has just set the template in the true medium lift class in the way the C-190 did in the 1950s birthing over 40 variants and still doing a great job close to 80 years later. It'll take some beating. Despite gatekeeping by competitors, it still was good enough a platform to believe in, and as cost & deliverability has become more important, customers & governments are bold enough to disregard political interference. They want what works. It just happens to also look very Brazilian sexy. There will be no competition for a couple of decades at least. By that time, it will have reached a maturity & scale that will take real genius & affordability to beat.
In all specs it sounds better than the 130 hercules , so why dont Denmark have Embraer C-390 instead?.

The design of this plane is the most beautiful thing, it looks like a futuristic spaceship. Not to mention the multiple functions this cargo plane has. It can land on any runway and doesn't need much of a runway to land and take off.

The Netherlands Austria and Sweden purchased 13 in all. Mostly airframes. Respectively 5-4-4. Avionics and protection are being built by a company in the Netherlands. More to come.
India should go for this aircraft.

Portugal produz parte da fuselagem central e asas do KC-390 desenvolvido pela Embraer. Neste momento para além da fábrica que deverá ser aumentada, Portugal tem um hub para formação de equipas europeias que vão operar o KC-390. Portugal conseguiu colocar o avião no centro da NATO, promovendo junto de interessados a sua aquisição. Existe neste momento várias unidades encomendadas em vários países da NATO e o potencial para venda é muitíssimo elevado. O KC-390 tem provado ser uma excelente plataforma logística.

Hey, in this video I finally saw a C-390 doing a military operation over very snowy terrain. It was LAPES (Low Altitude Parachute Extraction). But was it really a C-390 doing the actual dropping on snow? Or was it another type of aircraft? Up to now I have never seen a C-390 landing on ice or snow as other military cargo planes (and a lot of civilian planes too) can do. I only saw one landing in Ottawa on a landing strip on which the snow and the ice had been completely removed.
