A police chief has said officers are “absolutely ready” to use powers to ban face coverings at anti-migration protests, saying hundreds of masked men descending on his town would make him “nervous as well”.
Forces have stepped up planning and intelligence-gathering ahead of the weekend after the Home Secretary warned that the protesters are trying to intimidate communities.

At the end of the day the more they ignore genuine concerns of people – it will just mean more normal people will become radicalised and turn into extremists and then they will vote for radical parties on the left and right.
So the longer they drag this on, the more the far right will grow and the more actual violence they will begin to see and frankly when that happens the police will be out numbered and the far right will just be like "well should we just take over the country?" And they lose at that point as the opposing side doesn't have the backing to push back or resist it as a lot of right people and central people will simply support that as long as the policies don't go too extreme when they're in (which initially they wouldn't be until time goes on). It's obvious because that's how the nazi party got voted in, I'm not saying it's the same thing but use it to highlight how over time people get more radical when governments ignore them and we don't talk about how the government are the root cause and fault of this behavioural change by being too lazy or too incapable of actually holding a job in government.
Like I'm central, but when it comes down to this – I'll be supporting the far right as I can't rely on the government at all to do anything about the problem.
