Drivers on the Big Island suck,…but….mainlanders forget that we are a tiny Island in the Pacific Ocean. Anyone overtaking other drivers, makes it suck
Daniel Inouye Highway is certainly wide enough for TWO LANES in both directions, plus ONE TURNING LANE, (try to turn left into the last Restroom Stop, 20 miles before getting into Hilo, and you’ll quickly realize that it’s a dangerous endeavor!) so why does the HAWAII (rich, with taxpayer money/other schemes) STATE refuse to give the people what it needs, eh!?! SMH!

How many friggin deaths on DKI highway before people wake friggin up and put in retaining barriers between the opposing lanes of traffic. The rhetoric/pablum that hwy officials spew is taking lives. People will take chances and others pay the price. This is not a perfect world so we need to build safeguards rather than expect EVERYONE will always be safe and obey the rules.

You're bad ass to be out on the road on Labor Day weekend. This shit will happen every single Labor Day, Memorial Day, anything that get Monday off will have drunk/intoxicated drivers going fast AF✅

These are not accidents, they are bad decisions. We need more driver refresher training, how about annually to help remind us of the rules, and safe mannerisms of the road. I think I am an OK driver, and always try to get better, at age 60, but Hawaii drivers scare me more than anywhere else I have driven, which is a handful of countries and all over the mainland. We need more education and refressher courses here. I am willing to take mandatory refresher training any time to help me be a better, safer driver, how about you?
when the cops finally going do something about the racing and speeding in Keaukaha ,, i live front street and its just gotten absolutely stupid in the last few yrs ,, boy got banged not two weeks ago Puhi bay by a car,, look the road looks like a drag strip all burnout marks ,, everyday multiple times emergency vehicles in and out especially on the weekend always in the afternoon ,, so tragic every since they fixed the road not uncommon folks over taking cars at 50-60 mph like nothing
