The first little signs of autumn have started creeping into our home, and this week I’ve slowly been making things feel cosy again.
I’m moving furniture around (and changing my mind), clearing and styling the bookshelves, gathering artwork and little things I’ve collected over the years, and generally letting the house shift into a new season.
Nothing is quite finished and, as usual, things don’t always go to plan… but I think that’s what I love about making a home. It happens slowly, over time, through all the little things we gather and the ordinary days we live in between.

Love the Autumn touches, the shops are full of lovely things but you can't beat a good charity shop find. I also have the same quilt, and it is such a good price. This is definitely the best season, jumpers, candles, cosy blankets and old movies, perfect x🧣🧤🫖☕
Hi Bethany, I envy that your heading for winter, Love love love autumn and winter…..I’m a reader so rain and freezing temps is a great excuse to grab a book, but alas we are heading into summer. I bought myself a little antique tea trolly it’s great for emptying my shelf’s for a clean up. Thank you for a lovely video. I think I need a home in the northern hemisphere and the southern hemisphere so I can live in perpetual cozy season, love the colours you’ve displayed it looks wonderful, love from OZ. ❤

Hi Bethany. I love the floral arrangements and am looking forward to copying them (I hope you don't mind). The new frames are lovely too! When I was doing cross stitch I had a older women tell me how to press them after washing them. She was so helpful. And years later Martha Stewart also said the same.This is what I do. I wash them. Place on towel, wrap them up and lightly squeeze them. Unwrap. Flatten them on back side and allow to almost dry. Then place clean towel on ironing board, cross stitch wrong side up on top of towel and press with a very hot iron. This makes the stitches pop up.
I would gently was the thrifted crewel work and press the same way. Then you have one for fall(which you made) and one for spring/summer. Have a great week.
I would do the cross stitch you made in frame and save other to swap out in spring . Your arrangement looks really good, do you think the blackberries will dry.
