I'm European, and I truly don't understand some Indians. Instead of celebrating that their country is taking steps toward technological independence, they only criticize the fact that the plane isn't entirely manufactured in India. Except for the United States, what developed country doesn't use advanced components from other countries that have better products in that area of technology, or that are cheaper to produce because they've been doing it for years? Is this how you want your country to become a technological powerhouse? By criticizing because you're not producing everything from the very beginning?

Kudos to our PM for doing this.. The C-295 is powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127G turboprop engines. India does not manufacture these engines domestically; they are imported. So its technically assembled in india not made in india.. so the next is make 100% in india..
HAL can learn from this about how to deliver on time.
