Strange incidents plague the windy city of Fuuto, all linked to mysterious beings known as Dopants, who gain superhuman abilities through USB memory-type devices called Gaia Memories. Shotaro Hidari, a private detective who aspires to be hard-boiled but falls just short, becomes involved in yet another dangerous case tied to these powers.
Together with his partner Philip, Shotaro transforms into a single Kamen Rider, W, with the two sharing one body and mind. As they investigate the truth behind the Dopants and the organization distributing Gaia Memories, mysteries continue to unfold throughout Fuuto. With its innovative concept of two people becoming one Rider, a detective-themed narrative, and a fully fictional city as its setting, this highly popular series established a unique world and went on to inspire numerous spin-off works.
