“The Drop: A Snowfall Saga” follows “Snowfall” characters Wanda Bell (Gail Bean) and Leon Simmons (Isaiah John) as they fight to reinvent themselves in ’90s Los Angeles, where the fallout from the crack epidemic is fueling a new game: the rise of West Coast rap.
Wanda starts the series driven by the clear belief that West Coast rap has the power to reshape American culture. She will work to put together a ragtag group of geniuses and lead them to the realization of all their dreams. To do it, she must navigate the dangerous overlap of music and street politics, pulling in those closest to her including her cousins Lamar Kinsey (Asante Blackk) and James Kinsey (Peyton Alex Smith), and pursuing volatile local rapper Artillery (Simmie “Buddy” Sims III), who is already in a tangle with law enforcement.
Her internship with former D-boy-turned-label-owner Darryl “DG” Grant (Brandon Mychal Smith) creates opportunities but also deepens tensions between Wanda and Leon, who has vowed to leave the streets for good and chase down his own atonement through his free legal clinic.
As ambition, loyalty and survival collide, how much is everyone willing to risk in order to build something lasting in a world that threatens to pull them down?

The Drop: A Snowfall Saga | Teaser – Coming Up This Season | FX
🔥🔥
If big Dion come back, we need to see Franklin
Plot twist Franklin will be a rapper
We’re definitely in for a ride with “The Drop” 🔥
You can feel that they ALREADY setting Lamar’s older brother up to die, I can just FEEL it
FROM THE WRITERS OF THE DROP – thank you for all the love in these comments. Every single reaction page has been showing us love and we need it if we want the show to survive. So thank you. We tried very hard to do this as a deep, layered, soulful show. It won't have as much action as the original but we knew we could never compare to the original — so we are doing our own thing while being respectful. Singleton was was my guy. I met him the moment I first broke into Hollywood 25 years ago and he was my bro. I read the first snowfall pilot before he even turned it into FX… I say this to say, his legacy is hella important to me. For me, my life in LA was like Lamar's. For the rest of the stuff, I brought in street legends, church legends, music legends to keep it authentic. Guys like Skipp Townsand, Glasses Malone, and Jim Bob (from Compton) were in the writer's room with us, and on set. I feel the authenticity is off the charts in this show and my brother John would be proud. The amount of love we are getting is soooo amazing, we all appreicate it. We will not let you down. Wait til y'all hear the surprise in episode two for the credit sequence: the city stamped us.
How Gail Bean not get nominated for any awards???
She went from a hood chick, to full on Crack head, to Redeemed character with incredible believability.
Hopefully she's not over looked again
Great first episode. Can’t wait for episode two
How am I just now hearing about this shit?
is this show gonna acknowledge how the CIA exploited taxpayer funding to make rap more popular than it should have been?

Really good 1st episode… and who is behind the production table. It's been some real heat cooking
Oh look it's more propaganda to destroy millions more . Smh someone ain't learn a damn thang. The jails must not be full or the population is still growing too fast .
Loved Snowfall! The show was extremely underrated. So happy to see they made a spinoff, can't wait to watch it!
🤩🤩🤩
I heard Big Deon will be making an appearance on this show.
“You a Vulture.” 🔥🔥🔥 The Saga is Back!
I think we have another hood🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 classic show on other hands
By the end of the series the dorky producer cousin gonna end up a gangster just like how Franklin did. I think his big bro gonna get waxed by the end of this season. Notice how uncomfortable he was and how Artillery was looking at him when he was rapping
They were whooping DG 😂😂😂
Dope 🔥🔥🔥
Wanda is building the music business up brick by brick or mix tape by mix tape. Tip Toe saved James life at the Bloods trap house.
Man this first episode was great. I can't wait until next week. The vibe is so 90s.. man!!! Those early 90s were dark times but I have so many great memories from that time
This episode made it feel like Straight Outta Compton made into a series I was so surprised. Ik some ppl had their doubts, but I have faith this is gonna be at least 4-6 seasons.
No trailer for episode 2? Damn ya moving like the chi smh
Why couldn’t they release the whole series at once it’s so dam good
