  1. In my native tongue (Romanian) we pronounce r the same as in Spanish, however I have never been able to pronounce it like this, so I am not sure whether I will be able with the help of this video… I so much wish it would work…

  2. Any advice on how to learn the more subtle "r's" in Spanish? I can roll r's very very well by now but that subtle r such as saying "hablar" with that quick almost 'D' sound really trips me up.

  3. I can pronounce the trilled r on its own without a problem. My main issue is using it within a word like perro, for example, without gathering air before the rr and then expelling it in a short gust after. It makes it sound like its own word within the word and sounds quite forced and not very natural. Any way to work on this?

  4. FINALLY.

I have tried to do this on/off for an entire year and looked up what I thought to be basically every video tutorial ever about it.

Then I found this video off of a Quora post (damn that website is helpful) and within 3.5 minutes of the video am starting to actually hear the trill when I speak those sentences.

Well deserved like, I think it's actually going to work now ! ! !

  5. What has helped me with these exercises is: Pronounce a word with the "rr" in the middle (example: perro) five or six times, kind of fast, and then pronounce a word that starts with "r"….. this helped me

  6. Within less than 3 minutes, only partway through the video, you were able to help me accomplish something I've struggled with all my life. My Puerto Rican parents will be proud. Thank you!!

  7. Veru helpful pronunciation videos. The Spanish always have problems with my surname as Jillins with the explosive j sound comes out a bit like 'killings'! I therefore tend to book restaurants, etc in the name of Carolina!

  8. A silly little question, but does the learning curve of this rolled R have something to do with the languages you already speak? Because I feel like I can already do it a little, but since you mentioned that it took you '2 years yourself', I'm starting to question if I even did it right.

I'm from the Netherlands, by the way, where Dutch has a different phonology from English, so can that be an important difference?
