All the stories are heartbreaking, but Carolyn; oh my goodness, it is incredible how strong this lady is. To be as injured as she was, then witness what she did knowing there was nothing she could do, and still held her emotions together while she told her story. Incredible woman.

Why I have carried a firearm for 20 plus years
OMG, if no one I've how to shut the gate over the store entrance, go to the back of the shop, there is a storage area and usually an office, most likely with a lockable door! And most malls also have a rear exit that goes to the loading docks for incoming product, and you can actually leave the mall that way!!!!
Why didn't the people working at the card shop shut the gate that serves as a door on those mall stores!!! They should have done that IMMEDIATELY!!! You would think that would be standard safety protocol for any of the mall stores!
These people never thank God 😢
I carry a pistol everywhere I go just for this reason. I would rather die fighting back then being on the floor begging for my life.
This episode made me cry real tears, absolutely heartbreaking hearing Carolyn’s story about her daughter, & AJ’s Dad: he sounded like a wonderful husband and caring father. Tragic losses. 😩😭😭😭😭

"It felt safe." People need to think ahead of time about what they might need to do in a violent situation. What makes good cover? Where are the exits at your normal grocery store? Where will your family meet back up of seperate? Unfortunately, this is the world we live in….
In the sinking ship story, i wonder if people were asking for the red one over a blue one because in the event everyone needed to abandon ship a red vest would be more visible by other ships over a blue vest that would blend in with the water?
Other than that i cant wrap my head around why people were being selective over the color of vests 😅
I lived in Salt Lake City at the time, maybe 2 1/2 miles away. There is a great spaghetti factory in there as well as other more unique shops. This was absolutely devastating.
