KTM 390 Enduro R Long Term Review | Sagar Sheldekar Official

It’s time to say goodbye to our long term KTM 390 Enduro R International spec and it hurts more than usual considering how fun a machine the Enduro R has proved to be. With small changes it got better still in a few areas while the quality time we spent on it also exposed places where it can improve. So here’s a download from Sarge on what helps it make a case for the best dual purpose motorcycle in India and where it falls short.,

  1. That observation about the front-end weave past 130 km/h being tire-tread and 21-inch block pattern related rather than WP suspension geometry is spot on, Sagar! A lot of riders blame the damping right away, but aggressive dual-sport rubber on a lightweight 21-inch spoked setup will always catch highway airflow differently than a road-biased 50/50 dual-sport tire like the Scorpion Rally STR. Also, hitting full lock so fast on tight switchbacks is a real quirk to master. Masterclass review as always!

  2. sagar, ride the enduro r too, just wanted your view on the base suspension settings you use for off-road as well as tarmac? In terms of the best ride quality and handling both at trail speeds and tarmac speeds

  3. The weave is because of the beak catching air at high speed acting as air break resulting in front suspension lifting off and lowering (beak vibrates a lot resulting in irregular air flow around it). I removed beak and now it breezes like duke.

  4. Thanks for calling out the weave and the turning radius. Felt the exact same way on our Enduro too and I wasn't sure why it was so. Great review as always Sarge 🫡
