2027 Kia Seltos S AWD Review | Consumer Reports

The redesigned 2027 Kia Seltos subcompact SUV delivers a roomy interior, comfortable ride, simple controls, and strong value. Its sluggish 147-hp base engine is better suited to city driving, while highway drivers may prefer the available turbo or the upcoming Seltos Hybrid.

  1. I'm not sure what model this vehicle is, but the row of A/C buttons at her fingertips at 11:17 is not the buttons present in a 2027 Kia Seltos X Line SX or any other model.

  2. Three comments for KIA's consideration…:

    1. The door handles are "interesting" but – what happens when an overnight freezing temperature + wind forms an ice shield around and behind these remote handles…!? you stand there with your remote key fab and… wait for global warming !!?? True, even traditional handles freeze, but it is easier to defrost those with a special antifreeze spray, than getting into the tiny slot around the "new" handles and reach the frozen back ice of such. A solution could be made by a built in warming element which would melt the area quick enough using the fab from the outside. PLEASE KIA….!

    2. Both our Honda Accord (2004) and our LEXUS Es350 (2009), have an extra key button (near the rear view mirror on the Honda and as part of the mirror in the Lexus), which are programmable and allow these to be used to remotely open a garage door. Very desirable, rather than carrying and looking for a Garage door external remote….. PLEASE KIA….!

    3. KIA – Please provide built in sun shades in the rear windows left and right. Very important for passengers especially for babies in car seats. PLEASE KIA…!

  3. I drove the S model 2 ltr. from East Tenn. to Mizzoula, Mt. and back and had plenty of power, so I disagree that it’s sluggish. 2 adults and 2 dogs with normal luggage as well on this trip. Seems to be a great SUV.

  4. You definitely don't want to fell ashamed driving around in to small a vehicle that doesn't impress the other drivers on the road sitting next to you at red light 🤷🖕🖕🖕🖕

  5. Ma'am, easy on the hands.

I like that they proportioned the ergonomics as a small car option for average/tall sized people; but, clearly, manufacturers have swayed away from making small cars, proportioned for small/petite people anymore.

  6. Many buyer are going to regret their purchase after the first out of their own pocket repair occurs. All brands have set their customers for high repair cost for what used to be, simple repairs. Image paying tens of thousands of dollars only to get thousands of dollar repairs after the warranty expires.

  7. I absolutely love the new Seltos. This is on my short list of vehicles to replace my 2022 Outback. What draws me to the Seltos is the lack of piano black within the interior and the fact that it has physical controls for the things you use every day in the car. Whit gas prices the way they are I’m hoping the hybrid will come out soon. The new EV3 is just ahead of the Seltos on my list. We have a 2020 Niro and so far it’s been a phenomenal car to own. That’s my wife’s car and she wants another one for her next car.

  8. So…. nanny tech… touch screens….. cupholders that scream cheap…. a steering column that bangs you in the leg and a screen you can't see. Sounds great. You on the other hand, did a great job reviewing this…. er… thing.

  9. How about focusing on the positives rather than picking it apart? You say it's a great car, but, but, but. It's a small economy car. What do you expect?
I wonder if anyone can be satisfied with this car after watching your review?

  10. This thing replaces the Soul. It's nice enough, but unremarkable-looking amongst all the other subcompact SUV's. At least the Soul was unique. And in the final generation, quite a pleasant little car.

  11. I have the EX AWD model and I really must say that for me the low powered engine is certainly not terrible, and I drive on the highway every week, five days a week to work and back. Sure I would like some more power but who knows, that may change later. I’ll see what it is like to me after having the car for a year. Honestly though, I love it!

Some mention engine problems. My 2013 Somata did which is why I traded it in. We’ll see how this goes with my new Seltos.
