Ok, I can’t believe how invested I am on a Disney show ahaha, everyday I go check theowldetective’s tumblr to read the new stuff (btw if u want to understand the show more deeply u should totally check it, I’m addicted to all the analysis and theories) and I just have inspiration to vid GMW and nothing else lol. So, I have two Lucaya videos on the way and an Rilaya one, get ready.
So, I’ve made this video to kind contradict the whole “Maya turned into Riley and absorbed her feelings for Lucas” thing, which is totally bs. Riley obviously has the best intentions and I love her but ughhh her diagnosis of “Maya’s problem” is sooo wrong. Yes, Maya changed, she grew in season two and embraced hope, which is great… Getting good grades and behaving better shouldn’t be a problem. Of course, Maya is a little off in this episode but I think it has more to do with the non-triangle thing, plus the fear of losing her best friend and all this feelings she has that she doesn’t understand yet.

I remember being amazed that Disney actually produced a show with such emotional depth. It definitely deserved more than 3 seasons. Disney should make more shows like these.
I was feeling a bit down today and suddenly it popped up, I remember how much I used to relate to Maya and I totally understand why, even after all these years. My heart kinda breaks a little for all the teenage girls who relate to her or related to her in their teenage years. Take care you all. And hang in there.
This felt like a character assassination, except instead of making us dislike her, it just razed her character arc into a flat line. And made Riley seem childish and petulant in the process… Thank you so much for this edit, it shows everything that was wrong with this plot line. It’s a checkmate argument.
