In this wide-ranging conversation, Sami Hamdi joins Muhammad Jalal to examine the rapidly shifting politics of the Muslim world, from the emerging Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and Pakistan defence pact to the war with Iran, changing US influence and the future of regional power.

They ask whether the so-called “Muslim NATO” could become a serious political force, why traditional US allies are searching for new security arrangements, and what this could mean for Saudi Arabia, Türkiye, Pakistan, Egypt and the wider Muslim world.

The discussion also turns to American politics, the growing backlash against Israel and AIPAC within the Democratic Party, Israel’s tensions with Türkiye over Syria, and whether Muslims have more political agency than they often assume.

In the final part of the episode, Sami reflects on his recent visit to Bangladesh and the Rohingya refugee camps. He discusses the failure to resolve the Rohingya crisis, the role Bangladesh, Malaysia and other Muslim countries could play, and why the plight of the Rohingya must remain a concern for the wider Ummah.

An extensive conversation on Muslim geopolitics, Gaza, Iran, Syria, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, US politics and the Rohingya crisis.

  1. This current conflict aims to dismantle Muslim and Arab cultural influence in the Middle East. Should Iran and Yemen falter, every Arab and Muslim worldwide would be under Western hegemony. This actually started with Iraq , Syria etc now end up in Yemen

  2. Bottom line your empire is never coming back humanity is to tribal and islam takes tribalism to a high bar ….first you attack other religions s ,then, other sects ,then when all opposition is gone you turn on your selfs Allah ,does not take mertrial bribes ,give onto Ceasar which is cessars give onto god which is god's

  3. One of the biggest problems with Brother Sami's analysis of Saudi Arabia and MBS is that he assumes that the Saudi power structure are a single monolith who agree on ever aspect of the foreign policy from the time of it's inception. There is no account for MBS playing the Geopolitics chessboard for the current situation and shifting in balnces of power and speres of influence.

He premises his opinions on the assumption that MBS is fully in agreement with the policies of the kingdom that he inherited and all subsequent action taken in the field of foreign policy is based upon this premise. It's almost too, "trust me bro, I know these Saudi Rulers"

As we know with human beings in general let alone those in power, this is simply impossible to achieve.

  4. 1:57:13 my solution after hours of thought is for Bangladesh to train and organize Rohingya guerrillas, arm them with surplus weaponry, with Bengali and Indonesian political backing they get a stake in negotiations between the Myanmar army and the other faction

  5. Sami, I never wanted you to finish. Subahn Allah who gave you the ability to articulate and simplify heavy topics. And Alhamdulliallah, who guided me to watch this episode. I struggled with understanding the concept of are we free to make the right choices for our people or they’re all puppets. I realized that here, they’re not puppets, they’re just cowards.

  6. WTF are you doing; whitewashing Turkiye-Qatar axis, whitewashing MBS, whitewashing Sisi, …? And at the same time being Anti Iran? Why isn't your prime goal to defeat Zionism??? Why are you still trying to apply the colonizers' "divide and conquer" strategy to expand artificial rifts between shia & sunni? If you really try to revive the Islamic civilization, how can you be friends with everyone but the real power fighting Zionism & Imperialism?

  7. The world is truly absurd: Islam instigates aggression, war, rape, the use of human shields, and child suicide bombers in the name of *jihad*, yet when faced with defeat, it resorts to ruthless extermination?

  8. How do you reconcile the claim that Saudi Arabia is independently easing relations with Israel with the assertion that Donald Trump is demanding this as a condition for U.S. support? These two statements appear to contradict one another, suggesting a potential bias in the analysis.

  9. The anti rohingya sentiments in Malaysia come from government poor management on the refugees. We have accepted refugees from Vietnam, Cambodia previously and were better managed by the government during that time

  11. Free the thousands of women and children in the al-Roj prison/camp, located in the Malikiya district of Qamishli, Syria. Kurdish (SDF) has been torturing them for 10 years, just as he did with prisoners in Sidnaya Prison. Children should not be tortured or imprisoned. Free them!
