【summary】
After recognizing her handwriting in the sketchbook, Elena confronts Avery and reveals for the first time that a car accident seven years ago left her with amnesia; admitting they knew each other in college, Avery takes her back to the old Aberdeen Hall campus, where familiar buildings, a championship photo, a rescued dog, and caramel ice cream trigger Elena’s bodily instincts even as her memory remains blank. Upon discovering an old college postcard inscribed with a love poem from Avery alongside saved movie stubs, Elena calls to question Avery’s past feelings, leaving Avery alone in the dark—holding sealed archival secrets, weeping over a forgotten promise to see the ocean together, and wondering if Elena ever truly loved her seven years ago.
