Why I need 3 different board setups at all times

A friend of mine recently saw a pile of my skate stuff and asked what each of my various boards are for. That inspired me to make a video about it 🙂

What about you? How many setups do you have, and what are each of them for?

FYI about some of the terms in this video:
“825 shop deck” means the board width is 8.25 inches (that’s usually the most important thing when you ask what “size” your board is). Instead of saying “eight point two five inches”, people just say “eight two five”. “Shop deck” just means that the board is branded with a skate shop’s name, instead of the name of a skate company.

“99A” and “78A” are durometers, which measure how hard the wheel is. Higher number means harder. Harder wheels slide, softer wheels are good for rough streets.

“Hollows” are trucks that are hollow in some areas, which makes the truck lighter, which supposedly lets you spend less energy popping tricks.

  1. Subscribe, we're almost at 100k subs! Details on each of the 3 boards in this video:

Primary: 8.25 shop deck (from the-house), Independent 144 Stage 11 Hollows, 53mm 101a shop wheels (from skateshred)

Powerslide: 8.25 Almost Impact Rings deck, Thunder 148 Foys, 53mm 99a Spitfire Formula 4 Conicals

Cruiser: 8.3 Anti Hero deck, 8.25 Shop trucks (from the-house), 60mm 78a Gummy Bears (from skateshred)

As for hardware/bearings: I skate whatever for these parts; haven't tried ceramic bearings yet, and I haven't gotten into buying really high high end bearings.

Since this video, I've gotten a new primary; it's currently a 8.25 CCS blem, Independent 144 Stage 11 Hollows (same trucks as the old primary), Bones STF Retros 103a V3 Slims 54mm

  2. I have 1 board setup and 2 sets of wheels. Spitfire conical fulls and Spitfire radial soft sliders. I keep the same kind of bearings in both to maintain feel and swap the wheels between conditions. Im usually skating a park so if its stupid slick with spraypainted transition walls or rough af I'll put the 93a radial soft sliders on, and the conical full 99a for regular conditions

  3. I have 3 board set up my beginner board is a baker board 8.3 with venture trucks red bearings and spitfire formula 4 52mm then another baker board 8.4 and has venture hollows and same spitfire wheels but bigger at 58mm then my last board is my baby and its a dgk board with thunder trucks and spitfire 56mm april black and blue wheels red bearings and sick ass grip tape 1st boards for people who want to skate 2nd boards to just go crazy in vert and 3rd voards for street

  4. I purchased 1 a few years ago and only realy skated around the house, occasionaly going on the road but not for long. I recently started going on my skateboard again, I'm still new on just a cruiser, and just going down ramps and trying but failing to hit tricks lol

  5. I use the same board until it breaks and I've got two pairs of wheels/bearings so I can just swap em out when I go to the park vs street skate cause I'm in college and don't have the money to be getting multiple setups.

  6. Park/tech board : just put thunder hollow lights, PJ bones wheels 103a and 8.17 popsicle board
    Warmup/street/filming/cruiser board : eggshaped 8.8, venture high 5.2 hollows and 54 spitfires 99a/soft 80a 60mm wheels.

  7. Sector 9 long board, just got out of storage, haven't ridden in 10 years, just got back in to skating, Andy Anderson complete from tcl I think? Maple complete was same price as flight deck so we t with it.

Then my old setup with a new blank deck since I broke the only deck I had left. Tensor 5.0s and tiny wheels I have no idea where I got. It always had white wheels that were normal size.
