  1. I used to record documentaries onto my dvr from history channel and wherever and rewatch them all the time. Now we have something like YouTube that gives us K&G’s for free. I feel compelled to donate or become a member. Thank you so much for this.

  2. Sod cutouts are super useful for this tactic. Just a foxhole or trench with a piece of sod on some boards to make a roof. Another benefit is that once the trap is sprung, if your soldiers dug all the holes themselves, they can use the dugouts for cover or further concealment. Those trenches can also injure horses or strand even the most powerful vehicles if set in the right place.

The obvious danger is having an enemy fall in early or land in a pit still full of soldiers. But you can really maximize the psychological impact: imagine guys just spring out of the ground and surround you AFTER some guys on horses hit the flank and disrupted your formation. Now about 80% of the enemy is broken for the next several minutes. Do with that time what you will

  3. Man… Imagine how many innocent lives would be spared if modern day battles were also fought by colourful rectangles that spontanrously disintegrate under pressure.

  4. The battle of Pharsalus is one of the most textbook examples of an army having inferior logistics, inferior terrain advantage and inferior numbers winning outright simply because they were better trained. Julius Caesar was losing the war until this decisive battle where Pompey lost everything.
