  1. An Invitation to Reflect on the Oneness of God and the Status of Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him)

My Christian brother, I invite you, with respect and goodwill, to reflect sincerely on these questions: Who created you and the heavens and the earth? Who grants life, provides for His creation, and knows what lies hidden in our hearts? Is it not God, the Almighty Creator, who alone deserves to be worshipped?

As Muslims, we believe in Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), love him, and honor him. We believe that he is the Messiah and a messenger of God, His Word conveyed to Mary, and a spirit from Him. We believe that his birth was a remarkable sign of God's power. However, we believe that Jesus is God's servant and messenger, not a deity to be worshipped alongside God. We believe that God is One, without partner. He is the Creator who needs nothing, while all of creation depends on Him.

    The Qur'an states:

“They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.’” (Qur'an 5:72)

    It also states:

“Say, He is Allah, the One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.” (Qur'an 112:1–4)

The Qur'an also invites us to reflect on the human nature of Jesus, peace be upon him:

“The Messiah, son of Mary, was not but a messenger; other messengers had passed on before him. And his mother was a woman of truth. They both used to eat food.” (Qur'an 5:75)

Our invitation is not to hate or disrespect Jesus, peace be upon him, but to believe in him as we understand the truth: as a noble prophet and messenger, and to worship God alone, the Creator of Jesus, Mary, and all humanity.

Think and reflect. Read the Qur'an for yourself, seek the truth with an open and fair heart, and do not let religious differences prevent you from engaging in sincere dialogue. True faith is not based on compulsion, but on conviction and the sincere search for truth.

    God says in the Qur'an:

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction.” (Qur'an 16:125)

I ask God to guide us all to the truth, grant us guidance and understanding, and make us among those who sincerely seek what is true.

God is One, without partner, and in Him let all believers place their trust.
