Transcript: Hip hop was a genre that was, you know, created in a neighborhood, you know. We got people, you know, break dancing, spinning on a back, spinning on the head. You got DJs that was DJ spinning around. It was, you know, entertaining, yet it was also informal. It was for us; you know what I mean? And it gave us a sense of direction and gave us a feeling of being a part of something.

As for rap, rap goes back since the 1940s, bro. So yeah , I really don't believe the whole new york east coast narrative , when they just popularized what we were already doing in the streets , I mean , yeah , when they came up with breaking , we , we were already pop pop locking and boogalooing .
Popping booing was created in Oakland like 1967, when breaking was only invented what in 73 mid-seventies, maybe but we were already battling
At the same time , when you talk about popping and boogalooing. And also locking are all west coast styles and it also came out of the funk scene , and what you guys call a break beat we was already dancing to break beats. Or should I save funk street dance beats before it was hip-hop, we call it street, dances or funk dances. Oh , you guys came up with the groundworks and s*** and if you think about it f*** was more closer to the West Coast, and you guys basically stole it from us. And then renamed it hip-hop, because I really believe that hip-hop was like a 1980 term, so before they're in the 80s, what was it called. So I don't know why the east coast takes all the credit for hip hop
I love hip hop
