I Built a Circular Saw Guide That Does More Than You Think!

A simple circular saw guide can make woodworking much easier. But what happens when you keep improving the design?

In this video, I build several DIY circular saw jigs, discover their problems, and improve them step by step.

Starting with a simple straight-cutting guide, I develop more advanced designs with adjustable angles, replaceable cutting edges, and a sliding guide rail.

The final jig makes it easy to cut wood accurately, handle different material thicknesses, and make repeated cuts efficiently.

And surprisingly, it can even be used with a router!

I also share some practical workshop tips, design mistakes, and improvements I’ve learned along the way.

I hope these ideas inspire your next woodworking project!

  1. Thank you for publishing this video. It's very informative. I will be making new cabinets soon. I didn't want to go out and spend a lot of money for certain type of tools just to get started. I think that by using some of your tools I will be able to save me a large amount of money. I am truly impressed especially with the last jig that you made.

  2. Hi, over the years I have become an old chap with nearly 50 years of experience in woodworking as a hobby. But what I have found here on your channel, this is mastery of it's finest.

  3. Your jig that emulates the best features of a table saw is very well thought out and I really appreciate that you’ve built in the inevitable wear and tear replacement factor. As it was coming together I thought it was very similar to the jig I made to use my cordless planer as a bench planer and jointer but of course it wasn’t but the use of aluminum tracks is my favored method of jig making as well, since it’s durable and easy to work with.
I try to build in adjustability to my jigs so they can be used for multiple tools and blade sizes within the tools so I appreciate your methodology behind your jigs as well. It’s a matter of efficiency as well and keeps my shop area from being overrun with too many separate jigs and apparatus. Edit: and at the end here I see you were planning on making this jig adaptable for your router as well 😂. I was thinking same.

  4. This is a great compilation video of several jigs and guides, and troubleshooting issues along with the methodology behind them. The kerf problem is one I recently encountered in a project where I’m cutting different materials and switching out the blades, and your solution with rubber edges is an easy fix I intend to use on my own circular saw jig. Thank you for the suggestion and inspiration 😊.

  5. я тащусь этого человека 😊 ты как всегда великолепен 🎉🎉 с нетерпением жду нового приспособления

Bravo. Harika bir titizlik, hassasiyet, iş sevgisi, ciddiyet, iş hakimiyeti – hepsi 10 üzerinden on puan 🙂

  7. I'd like to make a request for you to build a more simplistic jig that allows you to use an Electric Hand Planer to be used as a full sized planer (Back and forth until you've reached desired Width/Height.

  8. Just as a suggestion.. for the first straight edge jig, maybe cut one side to the length of the wide side of your saw foot and the other side to the shorter one. Then you can use the same straight edge to cut in either direction.
