Discover the real reason you haven’t changed in the teachings of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj from I Am That, Talk 95.
Nisargadatta Maharaj was told “I lack courage” — and in I Am That he traced it to something deeper.
You have read the books. You have heard the talks. You agreed with every line, and something in you said: yes, that is true. Then the day went exactly as it always goes. The same anger. The same reaching. The same holding on.
So you reach for the only explanation available: I understood it. I am just weak.
In I Am That, a visitor says exactly that — “I admit it is courage that I lack.” Maharaj neither consoles him nor stops at his diagnosis:
“It is because you are not fully convinced. Complete conviction generates both desire and courage. If action does not follow conviction, examine your convictions, don’t accuse yourself of lack of courage. Self-depreciation will take you nowhere.” — I Am That, Talk 95
Then comes the image that is hard to put down. Don’t be like the rich man who has made a detailed will, but refuses to die. Every item listed. Every share decided. He has written down everything about his own death and believes none of it.
Nobody gathers courage to drop a burning coal. The hand opens on its own. Where agreement has become conviction, the action is not a decision.
Which leaves the harder question, the one Maharaj asks a few lines later. If your behaviour is the evidence, what is it evidence of?
Save this for the next time you call yourself weak. Send it to someone who has read everything and changed nothing.

A likely misreading: "so conviction just arrives on its own, and until then nothing I do matters." That is not what Maharaj says. In the same passage he names the work — meditation is the art of achieving faith through understanding. You consider the teaching received, in all its aspects and repeatedly, until out of clarity confidence is born, and with confidence, action. So the instruction is not to sit and wait for conviction. It is to stop auditing your willpower and start auditing what you actually hold to be true.
The intent behind this content is simple — to spark curiosity. These videos are not final answers. They are starting points meant to stay with you long enough.
A short video cannot replace deep study. But it can make you curious enough to begin.

The moment you will realize this life which your taking too seriously is your biggest, strongest, longest and deepest dream then you will live this life as a drama/play consciously. And will wake up to your true self/no self observing your breath. Don't cling to anything while playing this play or while leaving this body. You will be free forever, you blend into that 1 consciousness. DEATH is also mind's illusion, leave consciously. Live consciously. Bless 🙌 you all. Tathastu.
As always, this is amazing…thank you so much for the wake up call
A well presented view… That a man knows, and to him it lacks… ❤❤

In short surrender to th Right no matter what's your current understanding is. You will eventually able to understand and that will guide your inner out conduct. Till then do what's told

One is not able to leave what they want to; or accept (good virtue or habit) not just because of lack of conviction, I can surely be wrong but our 'Vritti' plays a vital role in shaping who we are. Vritti, the emotions, the likings, dislikings, the temperament that we acquire from numerous births. I feel if someone gears up their willpower and take small doable goals to get rid of one vritti (emotion, habit ) and give it all, then in the long run we can see some good results, some transformation which we want, crave or yearn for. One way to build strong willpower is surrendering to Bhagwan and incorporate discipline and self motivation in our life. Apney Mann se baat karni aani chahiye.
