It’s OFFICIAL: Canada JUST Ended America’s Oil Discount & Trump Can’t Stop It! Canada News Today: Mark Carney fast-tracks the Pacific Link oil pipeline to send 1 million barrels a day to Asia. This is breaking news in the Trump-Canada trade war. Mark Carney has made Pacific Link a project of national interest under the Building Canada Act. That happened on the same day Trump’s trade representative Jamieson Greer insisted Canada could never replace the American market. Today about 3.9 million of Canada’s 4.3 million barrels a day go to the United States. Pacific Link alone would carry more than twice what Canada sells to every other customer combined. Ottawa is also putting $10 billion into Roberts Bank and projects 140,000 jobs as Trans mountain leads development. Meanwhile, the G20 trade talks in Milwaukee produced nothing, Washington is pressuring Europe to release its diesel reserves or face export tax, and Canadian exports outside the U.S. jumped 11.1%. Canada sold 4m BPD to the US – the new pipeline (fast-tracked) is due be operational in 2033. and that's a big "IF" – the Greens, environmental groups and First Nations have already announced plans to challenge it in court. so if everything goes to plan – in 7 years Canada will have a way to sell 25% of what it now sells to the US to other nations. in 7 years – if the project actually stays on track – Canada reduces sales to the US by 25% – really isn't big news – it's a start – but a long way from being a solution.

We NEED to diversify, and the Pacific Link gives us that option in a big way…so yes, I’m for it, and I LOVE the fact that it could mean we no longer have to sell oil to the U.s. at a discount! They get to pay full market price, yay! I also hope that tolls for truckers to use the Alaskan highway get charged, AND that the U.S. ships from the Great Lakes that use the Canadian locks also PAY tolls on those?…. Let’s see, MOST of the U.S. air travel to go to Europe flies in our Canadian Airways, so that should be stopped…since it is threatening to us and is a matter of Canada)# National Security. And our border crossings should put all Americans coming through our border at the same level of extensive search that Canadians get to enter the U.S….. the paperwork to apply for 30 days prior, the scrutinizing of their cell phones and laptops, verifying all their suitcases and vehicles for guns, drugs, or their banned goods like liquor, wines, etc…. I am baffled by the people who negotiate the oil price with the US. We know they need our oil, that is simply a fact. Why hot state our price that is market driven, If they do not want to pay that we simply state, no more oil but for every week you wait to settle prices we increase the cost by 5%. No going back to the old price we offered. In a few weeks they will come back crawling to us for the oil they need. We "MUST" dictate the price and let them suffer if they do not agree to our prices.

Canada is the largest country in NORTH America and the United States is the smaller country in NORTH America. You just can't call down America – call it the United States as there is also the continent of SOUTH America.
Carney is amazing he uses negavity as a tool to get things done he sees opprtunities rather then loose his cool . its a aweome trait to have and speeds up the process and its a recipe for sucess. not being a politican likey works in his favour.
I can't tell you how happy I am to hear that the discount of oil to US is finally stopping! ….I was aware of it and figured our Prime Minister is more strategic then me….and he would plan for that change on our oil going to US when it would have the most impact. At this point I believe Pacific Link is a good idea….in the future we may be using less oil which is good but until then anything we do to divert from US is a good move.

Hello Planet D from France! I never heard of your YT Channel until I stumbled across it tonight. So, I want to thank you for a very informative video and clear analyses of the current Trade War with the US.
I love Canada and Canadians. My grandfather was a pioneer in Canada early in the 20th Century, and he founded the town of TROCHU, near EDMONTON with fellow officers from France. They bought land and built EVERYTHING: the houses, the hospital, the church, schools, ploughed fields, etc.
There is still a museum to remember these courageous French people who travelled all the way with their families to be a part of Canadian History.
We are proud of what they achieved and the good they left behind.
