A Republican political group backing Sen. Susan Collins spent nearly $25,000 airing ads in Portland, Oregon instead of Portland, Maine.
The ads targeted Democratic candidate Troy Jackson and were meant to run in Maine. NBC News reported the error, which was caught and corrected by the ad buyer, who refunded the full amount. The ads are now running in the correct state. The group’s leader described her reaction as absolutely furious.
