I Don’t Freeze Meat Anymore — I Preserve It in a Jar as a Complete Meal and It Lasts for Years

Canning meat in jars — a homemade pork shoulder recipe with onions, garlic, and beef broth. A hearty meat meal prepared in a jar with simple ingredients.

In this video, I share my personal approach to meat preservation and preparing homemade meals in jars. Pork shoulder is the main ingredient, combined with onion, garlic, salt, black pepper, and savory broth.

I lived through war and inflation. I know what it means to worry about feeding your family when food prices rise and everyday life becomes uncertain. That experience is why food preservation, emergency food supplies, pantry planning, and preparing for hard times matter to me.

Some people call keeping food supplies old-fashioned. I lived through war and inflation — to me, it means being prepared.

Is keeping food for hard times common sense, or worrying too much? Tell me where you stand. 👇

  2. Brilliant thinking and preserving method. I am interested in any method of preserving (now pricey) fresh good meat!
Thank you very much for sharing. One would need to have the equipment and inclination to decide!

  3. She didn't even take out the air bubbles you always take out the air bubbles did you hear them are bubbles in there when she was pouring the water in it you could hear a gurgling I would never do that I would never put myself on my family and botulism are Mold anything else. Just definitely needs to be pressure canned

  4. This is so unsafe! Water bath canning doesn’t get hot enough to properly process meat. Pressure canning is the only way not to mention much quicker, easier and safer than 3 hours of boiling water that can’t get hot enough.

Robię podobne konserwy, ale bez tej wodnej zalewy.
Najpierw mieso konserwuję w podobnej zalewie przez całą noc a rano wkładam w słoiki bez cebuli i bez czosnku.Trzymam takie konserwy ca' 2 lata, w ciemnym miejscu.

  6. What country are you from? Do you keep pigs? Here in the u.s we normally live close to a grocery store and buying meat 3 months ahead of time isn't necessary,
Frozen meat is more expensive to store, but tastes better than canned meat.

  7. This needs to be processed in a pressure canner for around 90 minutes to be sure it's shelf stable. I use pint jars, 1/2 teaspoon of canning salt and no liquid. After proper processing it will be shelf stable for years and can be eaten straight from the jar or used in recipes for soups or stews or fried. Really handy and can be done with chicken, pork, beef, rabbit, venison and so many other foods.

  8. I would pressure can it not water bath can it. Pressure canning is safe I wouldn't trust that the vinegar would do the trick. I care enough about my family not to use them a guinea pigs. Thats just me!

  9. Guys this just sous vide. You can do this in the jars in a sous vide to get better temperature control. You can also use silicone bags for storage. Pretty interesting to store them outside of the fridge though
