  1. Oh boy! Another short covering and promoting a product that isnt intended for the core player base!

The sooner we stop covering this garbage the sooner we can actually get products not hyper designed for scalpers

  2. Sold out in EU in 16min, sold out in US in 22min. Not 30 minutes after it sells out, there's over 100 listings on eBay starting at $400 up to $700. I think there might be a scalping issue here…

Not to mention I pre-queue'd at 8am, got my position in line at 9 with an expected wait of over an hour. Very disappointing from Wizards to make their product available to scalpers and not players.

  3. Literally what point will Wizards stop raising the fucking price of these products. I understand the entire economy has experienced a major shift in overall fuckin inflation. But you have to understand that at SOME point you’re going to push past what the average magic player will spend on one single product. Idk how far off we are but I myself am not really that well off and I have never been able to or plan to afford a full collector booster box.
I find $150-200 for a box of play boosters to be ridiculous.
They cut sample packs out of commander decks.
They cut cards in boosters and collector boosters.
They cut foils unc and com all together in reg boosters
    They reduced packs per box.
Then subsequently have jumped the prices of everything through the fucking roof.
I genuinely am a major hater of proxies but I don’t see wotc or hasbro as caring for the game. They don’t actually fucking care what happens to the secondary market unless they’re missing out on profit.

Genuinely fuck hasbro money hungry cunts. I just want to play the fucking game but now I’m just forced to proxy cards I want because the coolest things are always exclusive and limited prints. And even if they aren’t, chances are I’m not gonna pull it out of a random pack I DO choose to spend my hard earned money on. I would buy singles but people and the game dictates price even from formats outside of commander. Reasoning why you can’t get a Gaea’s cradle for $800 anymore and it’s reaching thousands.
If I want an icetill explorer as an example. I can gamble my money and buy a pack, maybe even shill out $200 for a whole box. I could even buy the single for it’s worth. However these are the only options. Gamble and hope luck favors a single pack. Or shill out for a box with the hope for other cards you can play. Or just pay up and buy the card from someone else who pulled one. Either way you’re forced to pay money. Hell even proxying costs time and as much money as you’re willing to invest in to print your own cards to be as accurate as possible. People who just want to play the game are screwed either way. Even the starter commander decks are being scalped by assholes. So nobody new can join in for a reasonable price.
There’s so much negativity regarding the state of the game right now but on the surface it’s just all sunshine and rainbows. You don’t see it from anyone lately. The best we got was the professor saying “fuck scalpers”. To be fair and honest with you nothing is stopping anyone from buying up all the things we want and reselling them anymore. Anyone with skill can make bots and buy as much product as they want the actual second things drop.
I somehow managed to get a single secret lair recently after being told my other two sold out while in my cart and being told to go back out of the queue just to go back in and pray I got the one thing left. I’m so done playing this game and I refuse to pay a premium on something that is so expensive and exclusive when it doesn’t have to be.
They have the ability to print mystery booster boxes and sell to LGS’s there’s nothing stopping them. They won’t because they can make more profit if the item is “scarce” (Which they have made it to be on their own volition) (no I’m not accepting “printing presses are so busy and overloaded and it’s crazy lately with one piece and blah blah blah”) They fucking know they made something really good and are withholding to make $.
Fuck that. Fuck WOTC and FUCK Hasbro.

  4. WotC:

2019 – SL will never contain mechanically unique cards.

2020 – Secret Lair Walking Dead will have mechanically unique cards, but it will be a rare occurrence and all cards will have an in-universe printing.

2024 – The List and in-universe versions of mechanically unique cards are being discontinued.

2026 – This Commander set will be exclusive to prohibitively expensive events and Secret Lair, and will contain dozens of new, interesting, mechanically unique cards.

2030 – Where did all the Local Game Stores go?
