I have just watched this movie for the second time. When I watched it for the first time it was in early 1992 when I was doing Grade 10 at the hall of my school Mdzabu Secondary School and on a big screen.
One of the better ww2 films even better with out the cuts 😮xx
Ça commence mal avec un sous-marin qui ne correspond pas à l'époque !
Confirmer par la suite c'est une série B nulle, qui ne vaut que par le plaisir de voir Mel Gibson jeune qui ne casse pas des briques, et Sam Neil, déjà très présent.
À noter que le film tente d'attribuer la sauvagerie japonaise aux soldats et aux sous-fifres.
Rappelons donc que dans l'armée japonaise, les jeunes recrues étaient couramment frappées et la bastonnade fréquente !
Très tôt dans la guerre est apparue une dissidence exprimée par écrit, qui alla en s'accentuant, sans effet réel sur la guerre. La majorité des kamikazes étaient dans des cockpits boulonnés, sans parachute, et incapables de navigation, ils suivaient un pilote guide. Avec les tyrans japonais comme allemands, le peuple ne représentait que de la chaire à canon ou des esclaves pour les usines.

What's a Chinese farmer and village doing in Pacific? The woman said Bintan, so it's in Indonesia, then in what universe is that a "remote" pacific island? Also, despite there are quite some Chinese immigrants in Indonesia, you know what's more common there? Indonesians! And why's there Chinese music coming out of woman's house? I don't see a band. Don't tell me they have radio. And why does that woman speak perfect American English? What's with all the Chinese stuff in this movie? Having a kungfu character in a special force movie is just weird. Might as well call it Force Z – An Adventrue in Little China. Imagine a Japanese special force sent to Australia, but the story has nothing to do with the Locals. It happenes between them and the Chinese immigrants in Australia. How wierd is that? Screw this, I'm going back to American military movies
