Meet 8-year-old Jesse! Born in Nigeria and a new Canadian, he’s a soccer superfan, and a fast-car enthusiast. When he’s not kicking a ball, he’s learning Igbo and cooking up family favourites in the kitchen.
✋ ABOUT M IS FOR ME 🇨🇦
M is for Me celebrates the modern Canadian identity by highlighting traditions,
immigration stories, and the unique lived experiences of real children, as told in their
own words and drawings. Whether following an eight-year-old Indigenous-Japanese
hockey enthusiast (H is for Hockey), a six-year-old newcomer from Venezuela (A is for
Airplane), or a six-year-old Jewish-Canadian girl with two grandpas (Z is for Zaidy), M is
for Me invites preschoolers to discover the rich tapestry of their communities, one letter
at a time.
