Hey, you might think that this info makes me your lawyer, but it doesn’t and I’m not. Sorry, but I AM NOT YOUR LAWYER unless we have an engagement agreement. I am just providing public information here, like a library does, and am not providing you with legal advice about your situation. So, it would be totally unreasonable for you to conclude we have an attorney-client relationship just because you’re viewing this information.

  1. The tip about not paying the ticket if you plan on fighting it is common sense. Changing the court date is not as easy as he made it seem, but if you're able to do it, then it is a great piece of advice. The calibration is an old gimmick and most cops will mention the date of last calibration in their testimony

  2. You get a ticket from a white cop in a blue uniform in a Black neighborhood, and it make you so mad that you see red, and you ain't gonna fight it cause you're too yellow… now what are you, a man or a box of crayons?

  3. True story: Many years ago, in a small town, cop said I was doing 49 in a 35 zone. I knew I wasn't. I was sure that her radar gun was focused on the train, since the track was parallel to the road, and past me from her angle.

I wrote to the railroad. (I told you it was "many" years ago, right. Wasn't kidding. It was snail mail.) When the court date arrived, I didn't have a reply yet, but I took what I had to court, and planned to ask for an extension.

The case was called. I was there. Cop wasn't. Case dismissed.

A day or two later, I received a letter from the railroad. They confirmed the train speed limit there is 50 mph. They couldn't positively confirm a train was at exactly that spot, at that exact time, but said there was a freight train scheduled through that should have passed within one minute of the time I gave, and that per their logs, that train was on time at the preceeding and following stops. (Customer service was so much beter back then!) I kept that letter for years, but it's gone now. Sigh!
