If you’re watching the 2023 US Open, you’ll see an automated referee system called Hawkeye. More and more sports – tennis, soccer, basketball, baseball – are automating referee calls in an effort to make calls more accurate.
But cricket is where it all began. It all started with Dr. Paul Hawkins…

Amazing analysis more cricket content please such a glorious sport
Thank you for mentioning cricket, ITS CRICKET
He is a legend man 🗿🗿🗿
Why didnt you mention TMO in rugby
Cricket is boring but
Shooting (hunting) yes please
And, Hawkeye now says 1000% of deliveries were going to hit the stumps. Complete bullshit and does not account for unpredocatble air friction, or changing swing post bounce. It just changed the game, nkt making it better, except for games played in Asia, where umpires were always the worst cheats and taking bookies bribes
Useless information like cricket
Critical thing is here, cricket never made those calls fully automatic, decisions are still rest in man, technology just here for check and balance,
3rd umpire and DRS are important part of that not just technology
Can you do handball ❤
I don’t care love. It’s a boring sport and this is a boring video trying to amp up a boring sport 😂
Hawkins? Stranger things
Assistance started with the run outs before hawkeye
would be a great system if their wasn't "umpires call" like seriously 1%-50% chance of hitting wicket and they just have a guess, nobody can tell and it leads to some horrible calls
It was all cus of a certain Steve Bucknor
Tori black 😅
Out of so many dismissals, you have shown sachin and sehwaag's!!
wow 😳
Tech this tech that, but why tf we have "umpire's call", mf if the path is tracked accurately then why umpire's call
Meanwhile, 99 percent of Americans are unaware of cricket.
We watch football, not the boring game of cricket.😂😂😂😂
Never expected her to talk about cricket and that too about LBW 😊
This lady is lit 🤟🏻
She’s hot and into sports, my kind of woman
Cricket limits the number of times a team can ask for review – just twice in a one day match, three times in a test. This means that they don’t make wild complaints – and some matches have been lost because a team has wasted its reviews. If soccer limited the number of reviews, it would not only stop teams surrounding the referee (“You think that was off-side ? Do you want to use up your last review ?”) it would speed up the play.
Nice fact I didn't know this until I watched your video🙏
Nice take I didn't know until watched your video🙏
Steve bucknor doesn't like this system
8:46 be honest, barça has a chance, madrid, no chance.
Captains having review, hotsport and drs level precision, as a football fan i want var to have all these asap
Baseball finally implemented ABS in 2026! DRS was in cricket back in 2007
That umpire's call version still
favouritism, , which existed for decades. Its better to assign it to the automation.
Great to see the due credit given. Unprecedented for the vacuum(USA)
Cricket uses tens of such cutting edge tech systems and keeps on moving forward thanks to the revenue it generates
This and the snickometer are magic
It's Football , not soccer 🥴
Hawk-Eye was invented by a guy called Dr Paul Hawkins ?
