2027 Mercedes C-Class Electric First Look – the new C 400 4MATIC against the BMW i3. Mercedes has not named a US price yet, the BMW i3 starts at $61,500, and here is where each one wins.
The electric C-Class puts out 483 horsepower and 590 lb-ft from two motors, with a claimed 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds against the i3’s 4.5. Mercedes quotes up to 474 miles on the European test, the EPA has not rated it yet, and BMW estimates 446 to 468 miles for the i3. Inside you get quilted seats, a wide glass dash and a boot of 470 liters plus a 101 liter front trunk by the European measure. In this video we walk around the European-spec stand car, show the interior, the screens and the boot, read its placard and tell you where the Mercedes loses ground.
The electric C-Class goes on sale in the US as a 2027 model in the first half of 2027. If you are deciding between the two German electric sedans, this is the comparison to watch before either one reaches a showroom.
