God, the first time I saw them was on Swedish TV in 1980, and in Dec 1982 I saw them live and met them in a really weird bar after the gig. Couldn't believe it was true, I was madly in love with Bono.

Reportedly during the practicing/recording of this song in 1980, Mr. Newson (aka Bono) was frustrated at the guitar sound that he wanted, so he took Mr. Evans (aka The Edge) guitar and starting hammering away on it, creating the sound he was after for the guitar parts.
