"A Book on C: programming in C" by Al Kelley & Ira Pohl ans "The C Programming Language" by Brian Kernighan & Dennis Ritchie are great starting points. I still have both from way back when.
C is simple, but profound. Mastering computing concepts in the context of C forms a strong foundation.
Remembering that C considers Zero to be in the set of Natural Numbers, and not blowing past the end of arrays are the hardest parts of C!

C is awesome! I wrote a book on C – "C programming Explained Better". There is no grey area in C…it's so straight forward and it works very well without bugs popping up when it's written correctly.
You can tell its Ai because the pauses between sentences are exactly the same length and the inhale is identical

Talking about WHAT uses C, is not any prove of WHY C is better! Also, calling C a low level language on a par with ASM is also not true. C is a higher level language than ASM. In fact, many C apps are converted to ASM on the fly. But I agree C is much closer (and better) than higher level languages. A mixture of ASM and C is the best code learning possible, for low-level coding.
