I feel like I couldn't quite connect this one and Pearl. I liked the psychological touches in Pearl but this was just weird. I was hoping to see more of Pearl's character develop outside of her mother's grip. She was not mentally well in the first film but suddenly she was totally different and uneventful person in this film. The old couple in this film just took over and looked so cheesy.

I thought this movie was a let down. I rented it and regret it. I am surprised it got such high ratings on RT. Ah well. The story isn't compelling, and if it's a case of the trilogy being mis-sequenced, then why? Why try to be Tarantino like that? Also, why make a mash up of Boogie nights and American Gothic and still think your picture is special? Planet Terror..I could go on. I'll skip the side dishes on this one.
