How to pronounce ‘R’ in British English

In this lesson I’ll explain the British English pronunciation of ‘R’ in different words. In some words the ‘R’ is sounded, but in other words the ‘r’ is silent. I’ll demonstrate the pronunciation, and will give you some sentences to practise on. To finish, you might even like to try this tongue-twister: Round the rugged rock the ragged rascal ran!

  1. The video is very instructive, but there’s some point you could mention. You’ve not mentioned words like here that in a British English should be pronounced he-uh and not just hee. Also as a French, I would appreciate if you have elaborated more on the pronunciation of the R like how to position the tongue and all of that. But it remains a very good video.
