Was the Borg conspiracy theory correct all along? Examine evidence suggesting the Federation encounter was a calculated event.

This analysis examines the possibility that the Borg were not an accidental threat to the galaxy, but rather a tool manipulated by an unknown party. We look at character interactions and archival data to recontextualize the Federation’s first contact. If you have ever questioned the true origins of the collective, this breakdown connects the missing pieces.

By reviewing specific archival data, we argue that the Borg origin story requires a second look. This video is for Star Trek lore enthusiasts who want to see beyond the surface narrative of the initial encounters. We specifically address how an external influence may have orchestrated these events to weaken the Federation from within.

  1. You left out all of the stuff from Picard. Q orchestrated the creation of Agnes Borg queen as well as all of the Borg related stuff that happened because of the founders and Borg assimilating thru the use of the transporters because Q introduced the enterprise to the Borg. Q guided Picard throughout his journey.

  2. What I think would have been better as an origin for the Borg what is a call back to Star Trek the motion picture and have the Borg created by V'Ger (Voyager 6 probe)

  3. Too bad for Q Janeway didn´t use the opportunity to destroy the Borg
luckily Future Janeway "somehow" gets the necessary info to go back in time and with the tools to give the Borg a major blow

  4. Why would Q need humans to take care of the Borg problem? Couldn’t he just snap his fingers and erase the Borg from existence? It’s one species in one galaxy. He roams the entire universe. The Borg shouldn’t be worth a nanosecond of his time. Also, why was Q surprised to see Guinan in 10 forward? Isn’t he omnipotent?

  5. This raises the question. Should starfleet find a way to imprison Q and bring him to court for war crimes? If it would even be possible to imprison him. Becasue Q needs to be teached a lesson. 5 infinities in infinity prison.
This video actually made me more angry at Q then i already was.

  6. Or. Is it that humanity is the q coming into self creation through assembling the species of many to create a singularity to generation the conditions necessary to build and conceptualize the singularity.

  7. This is a compelling theory. It lines up a little with my head cannon that the Q, Borg, and Klingons (and possibly Species 8472) are actually the result of the Temporal Cold War. So Kahless is a Klingon who Q have had an interaction or two with, choosing a warrior race first, hence how Klingon society should've collapsed yet remains mostly strong but the Borg proved too much of a challenge so the timeline was reset and this time Q has chosen Picard which, for the most part, has been a successful endeavour. I also think the Q became the Q because of the Temporal War, starting off as humanoid psychics then evolving to the point we see them as in the shows.

I will admit that I did fall down the rabbit hole of the Temporal Cold War hence I probably see it as a much bigger and messier event than most but that's all my head cannon lol

  8. I think another video had gone over how even the Q had feared the Borg. That doesn't sound like one of his creations. I just looked it up. It is canon that Q didn't want any smoke with the Borg. Then the Voyager series and later can on pretty much nerfed them to hell so….

  9. Although I assume they'd be marked for extinction, imagine an encounter between the Borg and the Xenomorphs.
The Xenos sure can't be assimilated, but they can mess up anybody's day.

  10. Here's the thing, the other 2 theories about the Borg and humanity. Is that Borg don't care about humanity, they are trying to see if Q will save them again. It explains everything the Borg do, they only send one cube when two would do the job. They give humanity enough time between invasion to recover, for Q to find new play things. All to either farm the UFP for tech or see if Q will save them again…or both.

  11. I always remember Q told his son to never provoke the borg, so I like to know why he said that, makes it sound like the borg had enough strength to be a threat to the Q

  12. I think maybe you've got the wrong end of the stick. What if humanity are the progenitors of the Q or, at least in part? Then perhaps what Q is really trying to do is alter the Q's own history. Why? To prevent the Continuum from devolving into omnipotent boredom like we see in Voyager. And if the Continuum is divided between those who want to preserve their history and those who wish to take the risk, it would make sense why a war between them might erupt.
It's also worth considering the enormous amount of tinkering Q has done with humanity over the eons, and the tinkering he appears to have performed with the Borg. It begs the question then of whether or not he has been tinkering with the Dominion as well? After all, all three represent three very different and yet very successful philosophies. The Borg forcibly assimilate and abandon individuality to find perfection, abandoning nature wherever possible. The Federation uses peaceful cooperation to advance infinite diversity in infinite combinations, embracing each other's nature. The Dominion/Founders saw solids as the threat and to solve that threat they altered the solids through genetic engineering and social manipulation to create a controlled environment of domesticated nature. While the collision of ideas is compelling for writers, the timing for these far-flung empires to suddenly find themselves in conflict with each the Federation is a coincidence worthy of suspicion. It's as if Q is testing the three philosophies, or trying to provoke each to adapt to the strengths of their adversaries. Is he trying to find the best solution, or is he trying to force a synthesis? And why would he be so invested unless it somehow can be tied into his off-hand "compliment" when he said that humans may one day surpass the Q. Perhaps that is not a compliment. Perhaps it was an admission of his intent. He wishes to force humanity and perhaps the Borg and Dominion to evolve. Why? Perhaps he feels the Continuum needs rivals to break up the boredom. Or perhaps he is trying to engineer a better Continuum.

  13. I have a different theory. Q wanted to push humanity into path of non-linear godhood. He then got expelled and put into mortal body. When asked he vaguely responded its for sowing chaos in the universe. What is so chaotic to other gods that made them punish him so severely? Bringing new potentially dangerous race to be their equals would check out. Q got reinstated once he decided to die to save the Enterprise which was crucial part of that plan, proving that he wasn't malicious, that he actually believed humanity deserved being gods equal to Q. There's a scene where Picard recites Shakespeare "What a piece of work is a man, how noble in reason, how infinite in faculties, in form and moving how express and admirable, in action how like an angel, in apprehension how like a god!" And Q asks if picard believes humanity could ever be equal to Q. And once Picard says someday certainly yes, Q leaves… Agitated? In disbelief? Horrified? Whatever were the emotions, Picard NAILED something with that quote.

  14. Makes me wonder if the borg were sent to kill the El-Aurians but instead assimilated them, is that the reason the borg queens have the somewhat similar perception of time. So the bong got upgraded over the El-Aurian, becoming a supervised version of them.

  15. So I’ve always thought that maybe humanity is the continuum and he knew if he didn’t do something humanity would be wiped out by the Borg or the dominion

  16. I think Q's problem with the Borg is that they are very VERY selective in using time to their advantage. They are a giant neural network, capable of predicting timelines and being so adaptable as to know exactly how to take advantage of changes. This interfered with the Continuum's own plans, perhaps being aware that they were being used by the Q. They used one time-sensitive species against another, with unpredictable results. Rather than snap their fingers, the Q needed to find a less sensitive, but more adaptable, species. Humanity, which shares facets of all the other humanoid species and scares the crap out of the Vulcans, was just evolved enough to grow into the challenge.

  17. So building off of this, when he provoked Sisco and was never seen on DS9 afterwards, did he get the answer that Starfleet was ready for the Dominion?
