They need to fix that slow motion. X6 @ 5:50 looks considerably more blurry and poorer quality at 100fps than X5 @ 120fps.
6:58 I was hiking during night to sunrise just 2 days ago, that gave my X5 a really hard time 🤣 I wish the X6 would be better but 6:58 is not a good test for that because both handle that light conditions just fine and it would require a tougher test to see differences.

Nice video! The new chip makes a huge difference in low light and color. x6 feels like a worthy upgrade.
I don't see any reason to switch from my beloved x5 to the new x6. The new small case is good for children's hands. So not for me. All accessories must be bought new. The x6 sees a few million more colors. I hardly see this difference at all. The screen is smaller than before. The integrated memory lasts just three to four hours? Once this grows to 1 terabyte, things get interesting. In addition, the holiday season is as good as over.

Seeing side by side shots you can notice a difference. But if you have an X5 and somebody is only watching video from this x5, there's nothing to compare it to and they will most likely say it looks great. I don't see a need for an upgrade right now. I also wonder if all the X5 accessories already purchased, would even work with the X6. Bottom line, If you are a X5 owner, wait on the X7! The video at 10:55 looked washed out on the X6.

Hey man. Can you tell me, if in X6 is only possible to record in I-log ate 4k as in the X5, or they upgraded that as well?
I’m gonna skip this one. Got too many accessories for the X5 and I don’t feel like building that up again. Not that big a difference unless you shoot at night. I never do I use it for action sports during the day.
This is so annoying. The X5 is garbage. I just got it a few months ago. Wish I had waited for the x6. Everything is so pixely and low res looking. I spend a fortune on it too.

Great review! Quick question about external audio: Does the Insta360 X6 support a direct 3.5mm audio input like the X4/X5 with the Mic Adapter?
I’m a DJ and use my Insta360 to record sets, so I’d like to run audio directly from my DJ mixer/controller into the X6 rather than using the camera’s built-in mic. Is there an X6 mic adapter, or another way to get a direct line-level audio feed into the camera?

Did you pay for the X6 with your own money, or with your independence? Back in the day, something as unimportant as that would have been mentioned right at the beginning. I suppose the contract with the agency probably doesn’t allow for that anymore…

No need to upgrade from the x5 to x6 unless you perform a lot of ilog and post edit color grading maybe. The difference is really not noticable. Next x6 way too expensive

Most people use them isnt professionals little tweaks on x5 can match the x6 anyway now so not worth upgrade
