I Was a Victim of a Crime. I’m Finally Talking About It.

I made this video to help myself overcome the trauma from my past and to give myself a sense of closure so that I can move forward.

In this video, I talk about the worst thing I experienced while working at a company in Japan.

  1. The very least that guy could do is to apologize truly truly apologize. Like you said he might've been feeling the pressure from all of the 30 or 40 people that were there… But it still happened to you. You did not want to do it you made your feelings very clear to everyone I imagine you were young at the time who knows what your fiancé thought and the idea that all of that is going around the office with photos and videos it's just really disturbing. I am extremely sorry this happened to you. They should've been held accountable as a group but I understand it was probably very hard for you to talk about like you said. Here's a big giant hug… Trauma takes a lot of work to get through, I don't know if you have psychiatrist or therapist who deal with that sort of thing in Japan but there is no shame and seeking professional help so that you could talk about it with someone who has been trained to help you.❤❤❤❤❤

  2. YouTube me sugeriu o seu vídeo e, imediatamente, eu quis te ouvir.

  3. Take care of yourself in whatever way needed to work through the assault that you went through. You did not deserve to be treated that way! Shame on all those people who stood by and encouraged that behavior!

  4. Yuu, I think it fair on the company that you escalate this to their HR department to let them know what happened so they can introduce proper training and handling of this kind of situation in the future. Having a positive outcome from such a horrible experience can bring healing. In fairness to the company, the bullying that took place should have never been allowed – coercion is a form of bullying and it was at a company party/event, so they need to be aware of it. Also, it is now on the internet so at some point it may blow up and you need to protect yourself – because lack of action affects your 'duty of care' to report and escalate this to the management of that organisation. Thus protecting yourself, them and other staff members. Duty of Care is very important – and everyone has a duty of care regardless of the law. Also, alcohol ALWAYS exacerbates situations, no excuse, just a fact. Well done for speaking out – please protect yourself and the organisation by escalating the incident for their record.

  6. 😥I am very sad that this happened to you. Anyone who says it is not a big deal is a bully like the co workers at the gathering. Many of us have a terrible experience that we never overcome and is eating us inside when there is no closure. the worse these days is that people video everything without consideration for others. I have heard of the drinking culture of companies in asian countries and the pressure they put on the employees. I am positive there are many stories out there like yours! talking about it will help you. now what you will do about that guy is tricky. Think about it carefully. God bless you and protect you Yuu.

  7. I am sorry for what you experienced. It sounds like the party got out of hand though that does not mitigate the pain and trauma you experienced and continue to experience. Have you considered therapy to deal with the trauma? I know for some people therapy may have a stigma attached to it but it really shouldn't. Life has a way of throwing things at us that we dont always have the skills to deal with. This is where a therapist is really beneficial. They can help you develop the skills you need to deal with the trauma effectively and move on. It's worth considering. I wish you well.

  8. Abuse shouldn’t be tolerated, trauma has no sexual orientation nor gender, speaking out against it, is the only solution, even if one finds the strength to do it years after the event. We can’t forget the trauma but we can heal if we speak about it and bring the people who caused it to justice if that’s possible. Speak out and loud.

  9. Yuu thanks you are so brave and a hope with time you can give this a plaece .Ai your fan from the first moment on instagram your a beautiful man with a beautiful soul ❤‍🩹lots off love from Belgium

  10. It’s unfair that Yuu is still going through this, and that guy doesn't just live peacefully, he doesn’t even remember what he did! That’s life, unfortunately… But what's amazing is that despite all the hardships Yuu has faced since childhood, he's managed to remain an angel, beautiful both externally and internally! And I don't understand who the people are who write negative and hurtful comments to Yuu—he doesn't deserve it! 😢

  11. I’m so sorry you had such a horrible experience. But for your own well being it’s time to forgive and forget. Not to say it’s ok what happened but for yourself to be able to let go and move on. It’s like holding onto hot coals in your arms. You are the one feeling the pain. More than likely everyone else involved don’t even think about it. Trust yourself. You know you’re not gay. So forgive and forget and live a good life ❤

  12. Good grief, what a terrible thing to have to experience, and it has become a living, recurring nightmare. I cannot believe the company you worked for or any company would tolerate this type of behavior.from any of its employees. Your manager should have protected you and reprimanded those who participated in the assault. As a woman, I would have objected fiercely to having to kiss anyone (male or female) — bleah– in the manner you described. So it's not a gay/straight issue. It was sexual assault. Because you are caring and empathetic, you're thinking about the other person, worrying about the repercussions if his actions were to come to light. Advice? Honestly, I don't know what I would do in your place because our work cultures are different. For me, i would probably have immediately talked to someone from Human Resources/Employee Relations in my company. I might even have threatened to sue the company … this is me, in the litigious USA. Something needs to be done so this does not happen to another man or woman in that workplace… any workplace. Whatever you decide to do, I know it will be well thought through. (Personally, I would have also talked to my psychologist because I would have had to process what happened to me in a place where I thought my colleagues supported and respected me. I feel sad and angry that you are forced to recall this ugly incident. Whatever you decide to do, I know it will be well thought through. You make us all happy with your wonderful photography and vlogs. I thank you for sharing and I hope it brightens your day to know that we all support and respect you 100%.

  13. Yuu, thank you for sharing this very personal experience and I am sorry you went through this traumatic experience. I hope you are okay and are healing. I hope you have someone to talk. Continue to be you. ❤❤

  14. You're so self-aware to be able to face your painful emotions, and you definitely don't deserve what happened to you, and the fact that you share it publicly on YouTube might let the offenders see that you are powerful! And they might( if they have human emotions) feel ashamed of their horrible behaviour! Also the report that you filed to the police will show them that you could have put them in jail (and they definitely deserve it) but you choose peace instead! And this is honestly a very strong move

  15. Thank you for the excellent video. It is truly very sad; as a woman, I can completely relate to what was said. You spoke nothing but the truth—I also cannot understand how people can so easily fail to consider others! They are selfish and always think only of themselves! Love and support from Brazil. 🇧🇷❤

  16. Yun, you are a common person and you are right having those feelings about what happened to you. It was an act of violente, abuse and, here, in my country it's a crime. It's sexual abuse. It doesn't have nothing to do with prejudice against homossexual people. You don't have to apologize. You are a beautiful human being. I congratulate you. I've been through something like It. But never had the guts to talk about. God bless you.

  17. I'm so sorry you had to experience that against your will and it traumatized you. I truly wish this becomes the turning point you hope for. You are brave and strong for facing it straight on and share it with the world 🫶🏼

  18. Your reluctance to file a report because of repercussions for the man is understandable and shows your empathy and kind nature . I think part of the issue is that whilst he carried out the act , the people at the party who instigated and forced the violation are equally culpable. Those people , however , will face little or no consequences and that is wrong . It was a group violation and it should be treated as such . They were bullies and picked on someone they saw as not fitting . I am not familiar with Japanese office culture but gather the group outings and drinking are common in Japan , China and South Korea . I think there is something restrictive in those societies that has manifested in a pack mentality and picking on a scapegoat to vent . I know bullying happens everywhere ( eg hazing in American frat houses ) but there does seem to be something within the national psyche of certain countries with a strong conforming culture. I hope you get the peace you need and the good thing is that there is actually a law and officers that can help you should you wish to take it further . I read somewhere that Japan did not acknowledge the act of male rape at all so literally it could not be illegal /criminal until relatively recently – I think there was a case of a famous pop idol boss abusing young trainees who got away with it because of that reason .

  19. Thanks for sharing your story. As victim it's hard to talk about something like this… And once again it's nauseously disgusting, to be reminded over and over again of the awful faces of human race. It's terrible how we get traumatized by the same species, specially since they should know best how to treat a person appropriately and what's a no-go. Nature and monsters are nowhere near as scary as humankind. The real enemy literally shares the same genes as us. Anyway, thanks for being so brave, putting your feelings and thoughts into spoken words. I hope you can overcome this. Even if you just forget about it someday, let it be a blurry nightmare that won't manipulate your bright future! Wish you all the best friend 🍀
