Most definitely an illegal driving that car. No doubt in my Mind! It’s hard to adapt from donkeys & mules to modern automobiles.
A car ran a redlight in Santa Ana, i can hardly believe that!
When i go to S.A. i usually see cars run redlights at the 1st or 2nd light ii get to. No rules apply in that city.
with all these big brother flock camera, they couldn't find the car? Of course not, they only want to spy on everybody.

My gosh ~ 1962-65, I walked to & from school through that intersection. Just last month, I drove through the old neighborhood and found not a trace of Orange groves or bean fields.
The fact the driver honked the horn before hitting him proves he saw the ebiker, yet made no attempt to avoid him.

Suspiciously shot video there – hand held, why were they filming. Also, it possibly conveniently does not show the lights preceding the crash. The report seems to think they know the car ran a red light, but it's KTLA and they are pretty dumb, and evil. Does nobody care about the actual truth before they pile into virtue signaling?
No excuse for not stopping after an accident, but the kid on the bike did run a red light… Glad he is alive…. but he is at fault.

E-bike or not, this guy doesn't even look to the left or right to cross the street, doesnt matter you're on e-bike or foot or in a car, you always need to look to the left and then to the right, it's common sense, maybe he learns that now

That driver RAN A RED LIGHT! Then, hit a pedestrian and DIDN"T EVEN STOP!! Sounds like a Rebecca Grossman tactic. Pure chickens*t!! AND driver was honking HIS HORN so, Driver KNEW he was about to hit a pedestrian. On is way to Mexico by now, I'm betting (Hope I'm wrong).
It looked like the driver was speeding also. And probably didnt even see the bike rider. But there is no excuse for not stopping and taking responsibility for the accident. Those bikes need more lighting features for riding after dark. I would add as many light features as I could, so I would be more visible. And those bikes being painted black doesnt help them to be more visible after dark. I'd paint mine fluorescent colors and have it lit up like a Christmas tree.
I see 99% of all normies step off curbs or proceed on their bikes at an intersection without looking simply because their light turned green. Look first!
