37:15 If research on gain of function is not done out in the open, will that prevent it from happening in the private sectors (or in some cave with bats somewhere in a mountain or underground? It is funny how so many pathogens come from bats that are not in contact with humans a lot, BTW. If they had not done research on transmissibility, would they know about the importance of the furin cleavage site, even? Would no one know about it? If people wanted to release a virus or wanted to mitigate the risk of being found out about when doing research with viruses, with lower risk viruses used in stock having less strict precautions than the bioweapon they were making, would they choose a place near a virology research center that everyone knows about, or would they take the risk of a spread starting somewhere else that could lead researchers to them? Would there be no motive to releasing a coronavirus in the vicinity of gain of function research if that research was poised to explore methods that could allow a vaccine to be made against their virus or that would allow it to be easier to identify an engineered virus? It's like the argument with guns, right? I still think that they gleam what we gleam from our research though, and it would be nice if scientists were not under so much pressure with limited funding, but the wicked have no interest in that.

Some media sounds like it has given credence to the lab leak theory and as if intelligence agencies accepted the lab leak, but where actually has that been stated? In what I read, they didn't admit it at all, but they mentioned China blaming the west or imported frozen food (meaning then that China might have believed that it was a lab leak from elsewhere). In this hearing, from what I gathered about a virus as early as December 2019 or earlier in Wuhan. Did Fauci believed that the Wuhan Market was the amplifier? That was still only 8 or 9 miles from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, so is what Dr. Anthony Fauci was writing in his journal (if taken literally) suggesting something that still gives credence to a lab leak as more likely, anyway because of how close it was to that place, or is he just pointing out that these two things are coincidental and saying it like a narrative that he is hearing? Would a crazy person release it from the lab anticipating people wanting to abuse it (weaponize it), but it was a strain that they found in humans already? Has anyone else looked for L*GG in all 3 translation frames of Wuhan-HU-1 positive RNA strand? That is Luecine-(any amino acid [not just lysine/arginin/aspargine used for nsp3 cleavage sites in the polyprotein])-Glycine-Glycine (LXGG). Do you only find 5 occurrences in total in all ~30,000 amino acid positions (~10,000 x all 3 translation frames)? Three of them are the sites known to be cleaved by nsp3. A 4th position is in exon nsp1 but out of frame (genomic frame 0 instead of genomic frame 1). Then there is the 5th case that is also out of frame with translation in genomic frame 2 instead of genomic frame 1, BUT in the spike protein overlapping the furin cleavage site as LLGG overlapping "SPRRARS". I looked to see whether there might be other nsp3 cleavage sites for the heck of it, before knowing that X was suppose to equal R/K/N but it just really seems like another weird thing about this segment of the entire genome of Wuhan HU-1. Was it or could it function as an nsp3 cleavage site out of frame? Does it provide clues to its evolution or what? Despite have cggcgg in it, does that make it more or less plausible that it came from a coronavirus instead of a lab? Does Fauci sound in his journal like he didn't think that it was plausibly from a lab then after listening to (1:10:28 to 1:10:40 and to 1:10:59), and he wrote it in an electronic journal there at work? Listening to 1:11:55 to 1:12:13, and so doesn't this mean something then? Can we see the non-redacted document? Notice that when we hear this now, it might be perceived as political, just like Trump silencing the CDC in 2025 (making communications conditional) before a report or before some news outlets suggested that the lab leak hypothesis was accepted by the intelligence community. Is this how things are broken to people? Making sure that it looks political when they might be telling us something, like some partisan swing between personalities with one or the other being plausibly delusional or what? Can we know the facts? Who is really in control? Who learns from research in institutions from work done in labs but under scientists with pressures to publish for their institution and with students who want to graduate in academia? How smart do people have to be to read publications and know what to believe? What if all lab research were filmed and uploaded in real time if it is being paid for by our taxes? Is that feasible though with interdisciplinary work that might overlap with funding from private sources?
2:36:36 It really would be nice to know what happened. It is interesting to me that a nurse told me a year earlier that they wouldn't be surprised if a 2nd SARS-CoV epidemic or pandemic happened and that it was probably fake and something else like it might be a way to alleviate healthcare or something, but, regardless of what is the case, it is interesting to consider the ethics of having scapegoat cover virus if that happens, if another pathogen is contained that has bioterrorism or bioweapon potential if we do not get immune to that strain 1st. What country would we be hiding it from though, and is that really plausible since countries all over the world can sequence it, right, but I still remember the expressions and general feeling that graduate students might not believe what they were saying about sequencing technology at an academic institution, and also the weird graduate school interviews that seemed like they might be selecting for people who are not literally listening to what they were told, but, regardless, I bet that it might have been a tough position to be in to decide whether herd immunity and selection for virus variants that are not as bad and it becoming endemic was better than closing everything down. There is a lot that we don't know probably, but it should matter a lot to people that research is transparent with more funding and more disciplined educated and passionate American people who are whistleblowers displacing people who are chicken (and might not even be from our country who can go home to their own countries [which has been the case for a long time] but with government funding from tax dollars) and do what is expected of them rather than what the rules tell them to do. More people need to be into science, and more of the humanities/etc. need to be displaced by real technical education. How much waste isn't there in university curriculi? Entertainment needs to go away and people need to wake up to how disadvantaged the populous is against technological innovations that we never learn about because all of our future possible solutions to problems that have not happened yet are being evaluated before consumer demand or other events or controversies curb evolution of research and innovations.
