  1. No one who isn't using a double-check system should be in pharmaceuticals . That's beyond tragic. An entire month! I bet he asked to stop taking them but the parents insisted . If that pharmacy had been doing weekly inventory as required they would have caught the missing methodone and might have been able to save his life.

  2. Never leave the pharmacy without making sure you have the prescribed med and markings match the description on the label. The right color size and shape. Easy enough to Google to see if ths generic name matches the brand name. Difficult to understand how the mix up happened, except sound alike, look alike meds located near each other on the shelf and the pharmacist grabbed the wrong bottle. But steps every pharmacist should take (and family) missed and tragic outcome. Too bsd the little guy didjt tell his parents the medicine made him feel different/ sleepy so they could have taken a second look at the tablets and label and call the pharmacist.

  3. This story really touched me. My son died unexpectedly from a stroke around a year ago. When the hospital asked about organ donation, his spouse and I quickly agreed so that his life can live on through others. I cried a little bit at the end of this video but my heart is also warm for those who were helped.

  4. In some cases where was some trauma which maybe is an homicide, Dr G. does the autopsy and find some type of illness, she goes for the illness. What about is the trauma causes for somebody else is the reason for a hearth attack or other other trauma to organs causing the individual to die? That should be a homicide or an illness?

  5. I have had to stop doctors from prescribing drugs that would kill my children. In one case, my daughter's neurologist prescribed Erythromycin for an infection he saw starting in her ear. He had already prescribed Tegretol for seizures a year ago. If I had given her this antibiotic, it would have raised the Tegretol to lethal levels in her blood stream!!! I always read Drug Facts and Comparisons about every drug prescribed for my family and myself. Doctors generally are not given pharmaceutical training…it's up to YOU to make sure your loved ones are safe. The same goes for knowing what foods/drinks have negative interactions with drugs (grapefruit is a big one!).

  6. I am a healthcare professional. This case is nothing short of TRAGIC. EXTREMELY sad and unfortunate for ALL parties involved. So very sad. My heart breaks for all of them!

  7. Methadone is a opiate. You build opiate receptors up and build a tolerance. I don’t understand this what’s even more baffling is that it’s a MOM AND POP SHOP! They know they’re clientele. The know what the pills should look like especially for a CONTROLLED DRUG! I suppose this is why methadone is a liquid now.

  8. In our local pharmacies they are NOT next to each other, in fact Methadone is locked up and ONLY the pharmacist can open the safe. There are cameras EVERYWHERE and everything has to be scanned and checked a few times before it is handed over to the patient, NOTHING has only 1 set of eyes on it and definitely not Methadone. Most of the C class drugs now in this area though are done through the specialty pharmacy since the pharmacy is not allowed to carry more than a small quantity of C class drugs due to robbery/theft issues.

  9. I'm so sorry for Erica's loss, but it's wonderful that her parents were willing to donate her organs. My late partner had an incurable form of cancer & chose full-body donation to see if a cure might be found.

  10. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 I need to know if the covid vax can be transferred to unvaxxed people through intimate contact. Please answer this question. Thank you.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

  11. If people would be their own doctors and help their bodies, these accidental deaths would not happen, bodies would not decline. Super foods are the best…Coconut Oil, Beef Bone Broth, the amino acids like L-glutamine, L Theanine, Goji juices, Grape Seed extract…the list goes on. Research Dr. Raymond Rife. I lost my two sons from overdoses from their Physicians!!!!

  12. ⚕ In the life that I have chosen, I come in contact with MANY drug abusers and I'm sorry to say, have known several people that have died from drug overdoses. The VAST amount that have died, have past away from using Methadone! There is just something about this drug, that makes a person soooo sleepy. When they just can't stay awake any longer, and drift off to sleep, their respiratory system continues to slow down to the point it just …..stops! In my personal opinion, I feel strongly that Methadone should be taken off the market! There is no longer a need for Methadone and it is a KILLER drug! It is prescribed for ether pain relief (which we have numerous other drugs to combat pain) or for people going through withdrawals from opioid addiction. But now, we have the new drug Suboxone, which works MUCH better combating opioid withdrawals and I have NEVER heard of a single death contributing to Suboxone! PLEASE, take this KILLER drug, Methadone, off the market and save many, many lives!!!!⚕

  13. I sure hope they sued this pharmacy and made sure the person who filled the med was fired and was punished this is horrible a child life is gone this was careless not a mistake just another lazy person not paying attention to his work in this job u need to be on top

  14. This very thing happened to my son when he was around 8 or 9. He is grown now. Thank The Lord he didnt die because I caught it early. We had used a different pharmacy and I thought the same thing, pills look different because of a brand. My son said he fell asleep in class. It had me curious. I looked up the drug name and was in shock. It was methadone, not ritalin! We let the pharmacy know. We were so thankful we caught it.

  15. What bothers me is why on earth would he be in special Ed classes? Clearly he is not a special Ed child? He just has trouble focusing, so do most boys his age, boys are really hyperactive especially if you don’t take the time to get all that energy out from them! That’s why it’s recommended they play sports and play outside to burn that energy off. He never needed any type of medication. He needed a lifestyle that was more proper for him. Medicine doesn’t magically transform a “special Ed” child into a gifted one. HE NEVER NEEDED MEDICATION!!!! What a sad sad case!

  16. Un-fucking-believable that the pharmacist KILLED that little boy!! Doctors missed the OBVIOUS problem and are also culpable. If that were my son- that pharmacist would’ve joined him. 😡🤬
