Why would the Australian government do such a thing to publicly humiliate a new driver? It's like a badge of shame begging for ridicule….
Say what you want about QLD plates, they're hands down still way better than our boring POS robot generated or bs expensive plates here in NSW. In QLD you pay attention to plates cause there are some great ones out there. For every few D4VE69 there's the odd gem, like the Taycan I saw with "MYSR71". You stop paying attention after a few days back in NSW.
Get this. Last month a 17 y.o. I know was bragging that he doesn't have to do a log book because he is using their app. See, we have to actually write each drive in the book, taking note of the odo before & after, dates, times. All he has to do is tell the app he's going for a drive & it tracks all of that for him! We were laughing for a long, long time before we could suggest to him that it may or may not have been commonplace to wholesale invent your log book entries, which was considerably easier to do on paper, than in a GPS tracking app run by the government.
