I Give Up.

Hey guys,

This week I just decided to sit down with no plan and talk about whatever came into my loaf.

Was it a good idea? Probably not, but I’m quickly running out of good ideas.

This one’s more of an inane, off-the-cuff ramble than anything else. Something a bit less constructed and planned.

I talk about something that will no doubt roll a grenade into the channel and cost us tons of subs, but hey, as Kurt told us, it’s better to burn out than fade away and all that jazz.

I explain why I didn’t want to talk about it at the time. Not out of fear, but because I genuinely didn’t know what the right answer was, and I didn’t trust anyone who claimed they did.

Maybe I’ll film a whole video about it sometime. I think there’s probably enough water under the bridge now?

  1. We lived in Canada from '11 till '21 thank God we moved back to EU.. During '19-'21 we were targeted for not get the 💩… Being ignored by some close friends etc.. Many bs happen. Unfortunately, many things coming to be seen eventually.
Overall, we are soooo happier in EU..
We loose the originality and reality of the point if living.

You do you man, good luck with everything and God bless you and your family. ❤🎉

  2. Normally, hearing that somebody is and/or was not vaccinated for Covid would send me into a tail spin and immediately directionally object to everything they’re doing and them as a person. But the fact that you come at it from a standpoint of just not knowing if it was good at the time or not based on how quick it had to be made to save thousands of lives is reassuring. And the fact that you are open to other people doing what they felt they had to do to stay safe as a plus. I personally was one of the first people to get the Covid vaccine due to being immuno compromised with a long and complicated health history, so to keep me safe I felt it absolutely necessary to get.

  3. I’ve had most of the jabs and continue to have them, I’m immune compromised so for me it was the right decision. I still get it but really mildly and less than the flu

  4. My husband use to say being self employed was a mugs game, luckily he’d achieved a good pension before going self employed, forced on him by redundancy. You can’t beat a regular income, I sincerely hope this works out for you ❤

  5. This felt like those times where a mate asks you to go out for a beer….and you're too tired……but you go anyway cos they're a mate and maybe you both need it…….they rant a bit about all the weird stuff in their brain and then boom 5 mins in you're LMAO.
    Congrats – you showed up.
Humble Suggestion: This + Latte art + a foraging walk + show us what your working on. Done. Easy peasy.

  6. Don't leave the internet again there's fewer and fewer openly speaking genuine people to watch. Covid chat YOU WERE RIGHT I had two of the jabx (because my mum had a lung condition) so felt I had too gone from a healthy person to someone who's immunsystem is 🤬 and lost a job I had worked 6 years for 🤬

  7. Hahahaha cracking up at the jab chat 😂 I genuinely cannot believe we lived through all of that madness. For so long I was scared to say I didn’t get it! On a side note, selfishly I would be devistated to not see you guys on here so I’d happily still watch a ramble chat on my telly!

  8. welp, you genuinely made me laugh several times in this video, so you must be quite funny! 😄
Thanks for being so genuine and authentic. It's so good to see! Love to you and the family! ❤

  9. i got forced to have my first jad while pregnant but im so glad i didnt get anmore , my parents got the jab and have always been so sick since ! im so with you on the covid shitzaaaa ! glad to see you back steff been watching for years

  10. Recommendation – do a q&a call out and save the questions for weeks like this when you just have no content and want direction 😉 but love your honesty, don’t always agree but prefer to hear someone who is vocal about differing views and not aggressive with it!

  11. Absolutely love the raw and real so share share share in whatever format fits the moment. So good to tune in, you guys are great. I didn't take the jab(s) either – THANK GOD. Big love to each of you from Scotland 💜

  12. Congratulations on the job and much success to your trial period. Your choice to skip the jab worked out well for your family and our choice to have it worked out well for mine. No need to imply anyone was stupid. I’m sure we were all making the best choices we could with the info we had. Public health is never only about physical health.

  13. A very difficult part of Covid in the US was the way it was politicized. The loud Maga antivaxxers were easy to dismiss (if you don't understand why, it's truly because you don't live here and know these people), while those with real depth of knowledge either sided with Fauci or stayed quiet. It was a very messy situation and many of us felt it was impossible to know what the truth was at the time. I did know, even as it was happening, that people being fired for choosing not to take the jab was wrong. That was rampant in NYC. In retrospect, I don't regret getting the first dose of the vaccine, nor do I regret my child not having any of it.

  14. Stef please give yourself some grace. You and Hannah have taken on a huge amount of stressful/ challenging situations over the last few years – selling and buying houses, moving abroad, career changes, renovations, raising two children… most people struggle when dealing with just one of those! 😂 If you’re a bit burnt out and disillusioned I think that’s a natural human reaction…Sounds like things are on the up for you all now though – this steady job should allow you to breathe, and continue your many side hussles for love of the game rather than necessity! 😊

  15. I never ever comment, but have watched you for years. I feel convicted to comment so your account had more engagement, you felt supported and to say you and your family are inspirational. I’d love to move out the country! You guys are just so normal it’s refreshing!!!

I will say, all of your crystal and self- worshiping and calling God “the universe” is complete tosh. You’re a deep thinker and so so so clearly feeling like you’re missing “something”… I’d say instead of finding the true spiritual path have been lead by your love for Hannah, to seek stars and smelly candles… all while fully experiencing that in this life you can’t control anything so on your search for deep connection with this living planet, you end up finding the living God.

But that all said, I think your posts from way back that were simple and relatable were great! And as a family my hubby and kids watch you now with all of the creative artist expression you put in to your videos. My 8 year old son always looks out for Grayson and Rufus 😊

  16. Had my breakfast with you chatting to me. Nice normal conversation without having to make the effort to have a conversation. Thankyou! Keep rambling. 😊. By the way I’ve been on one of Hannah’s retreats – keep up the good vibes in Portugal guys.

  17. My parents own a little business and my mother can't wait to retire. She's always said she would prefer to work the tills in Tesco than work for herself. I get it. A regular wage is nothing to scoff at and a lot easier than working for yourself. Good luck with the job.
And as someone who moved to Spain with little kids, I definitely think you've made the right decision for your kids. Mine are both fluent now having been in state schools since 4 and 6 (now 11 and 14).It's tough in the beginning but they'll get through it and they'll integrate better. I know adults who went to the international school and they either don't integrate at all, aren't properly fluent or move back to the UK as adults.

  18. Hi Stef, I was on the same side as you for the covid stuff, I even did protests against the whole thing in London and in my small French town, hence meeting people who thought like me and making new friends. No jabs here either, that was something with lots of elderly neighbours who would stop me in the street to ask if I had had my jab and another giving me addresses to get tested as was going into my own garden…And don't get me started about the paperwork for tests to go through customs to go to France and come back to the UK, what a palava! I never did the tests, would order them from somewhere where you could 'do them at home', would dip the thing into tap water and would get a negative result and voilà!! Ohh, I so look forward to videos where you'll talk more about it. We are many to have gone through the same. In France, me and my family were banned from restaurants, swimming-pools, concerts, hospitals etc. For us French, it was like experiencing what some French people experienced during WW2 and also the delation. It's a growing thing here in the UK.

  19. Omg I haven’t seen your videos pop up on my feed in years, used to watch your family vlogs when you uploaded weekly/daily I think?! I didn’t believe shit about covid either, I knew I liked y’all. Saludos from San Diego 💫

  20. Just love you guys and what you stand for. Good to hear your rap…
“Oh fuck Steph you’re sexy”!!! And yes I’m joking. Just saying what you wanted to hear 😂😂
Glad you’re all doing well, makes the move to Portugal meaningful and fruitful.
All the best for your new job. Here’s to Rufus making and selling jam. Grayson is growing up so fast! To fast!!
    Happy days Michelak family,
    From, 🇦🇺🦘🐨
