The reason to buy the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra isn’t the cover screen. This Z Fold 8 Ultra review is about the inner display, and what happens if you never really open it.
🇺🇸 Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra on Amazon (paid link):
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra looks finished on day one. The question is what you do after the folding-phone hype wears off. I used it like a normal phone when it was closed, then opened that 8-inch inner display when the extra space actually earned its keep.
If that inner screen becomes part of your day, the Fold 8 Ultra starts making sense. If you live on the cover, you paid Ultra money for a hinge and notifications.
In this Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra review I get into the cover screen, the thinner design, hinge and crease, Samsung DeX, multitasking, the 200MP camera, the outdoor display, gaming, the 5,000mAh battery, 45W charging, durability, no S Pen, and the little things Samsung still forgot on a phone this expensive.
I also tested five FNTCASE Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra cases, from full rugged protection with a pen holder and screen protector to cleaner MagSafe cases that don’t turn the phone into a tactical brick.

My issue wit thw fold 7…i hardly use the tablet part…i be on lunchbreak and half through the break i b like oh shit watch a video on the inside …super dope phone but it is wat it is
Fold 8 is better
I recently get the z fold 5. Love it. I'm a reader. I have like 4 kindles. Since I got the z fold 5 I've stopped using the tablets. Dont need them since my phone is both. now I'm eyeing the z fold 8 with lust. that shorter wider body is exactly what I want. Can't justify the cost right now yet. I'll wait till it proves out as durable enough for the price tag.
Lmao low sub channels be desperate af
This video looks sooooooo good on my 8 ultra!!
So what is the trap? And hen I buy i pay in full.
I just get mine today and I'm coming from iphone 13 pro max and I'm loving it it's literally like having a pc in the pocket
Top notch review love it ❤❤❤
2 weeks in and I'm hearing popping plastic when I unfold my 8 Ultra
Inner crease will sucks dust and in approximately 1.5 years, inner screen will be unusable no matter how careful you are, or how little you use the inner screen, however if you have the money to dump in those supet poor quality foldables go ahead no one can stop you.. btw im also a fold user and it sux BIG TIME
I'm still waiting for the tri-fold.
I'm watching on my zfold 5 trying to justify another $2k for an upgrade. Every fold I've had has had issues with the inner screen within 2 years. This makes it a difficult decision for a person that likes to keep a phone for 3 to 5 years. I can justify 2k every 5 years for the additional productivity. Every 2 years….thats tough.
You showed us a case with a pen holder.
Tbh, most people don't actually notice how thin it is because 90% of non rich YouTubers put a case on it. I put a case on mine literally 5-10 seconds after i took it out there box. It's still pretty thin, but not that thin.
Compared to the s26 ultra, speaker not so great…..
It kills me still no S pen. Still on my 6 ONLY because of this… Great phone but not back to what I need
I love foldables. I bought almost every generation. Losing the pen was a nightmare. Almost all of of them started getting cracks in the crease and they always get crunchy hinge opening sounds after 6 months. The fold 6 was the first that didn't get cracks. And I'm still currently on the Fold 7.
I still buy it because it's incredibly useful. But it is not engineered for the average person who doesn't baby their phone.
I open my fold 7 always, I never use my front screen, I do read a lot though so this thing is basically a tech book to me so I love it, gonna wait for the next one before I upgrade since my 7 fold works just fine, also this phone is durable enough, people get scared to drop it, dude I be tossing this thing across the room when I get pissed at messages x.x still works amazingly
Nobody uses spen…
Came from Fold 5 and haven't been able to put this down
I have a zfold 7. And I absolutely love it even after a year of owning it ❤
I use.the additional real estate for productivity… All my office and SharePoint apps installed I can edit docs on the fly without squinting at a small screen copy paste items from doc to doc without jumping through hoops. For everything else the outer screen is just fine. I don't upgrade phones unless I really have to. My previous phone was the S22 ultra and while I really really miss the s pen functionality I think I can I can replicate with an inductive pen.
I love this phone but my only issue is the fact that it doesnt have any cooling, it starts lagging pretty quick under heavy usage, like playing roblox or any other demanding game. I work outside so the heat makes it even worse, i didn't have this issue with my s24 ultra.
I named my fold TARDIS…… because its bigger on the inside
I have the z8 ultra for 2 weeks now coming from s23 ultra and to be honest this phone i don't think it will last long is very fragile and In my opinion in not worth the upgrade I will send it back and get the s26 ultra I am very disappointed with samsung this phone it doesn't fell premium or ultra at all and the front camera is not that good is my honest opinion .
Why do all of the comments read like AI generated marketing?
You'll scratch that inner display with an S Pen I bet.
I take it they don't want you using styluses at all.
I don't know about anyone else but upgrading from the z fold 6 made me enjoy the 8 ultra even more. It wasn't much wider with it closed but it feels like it when reading all the things i usually do. It feels like having an regular samsung ultra in my hand. The 6 just felt way more thinner with it closed. Bettery life is a huge upgrade as well and how fast it charges in comparison.
I Need This As A Work Phone. 🛍🛒🫶🏾
Waste of time
I only paid £380, which is 45% off. My friend in the phone industry gets one big device code a year. I traded my phone for an S24 Ultra. Got £460 off. Now I'm wondering if it was worth it. It's just an S26 Ultra, the bigger version with a double screen, that's really it.
Coming from the Z Fold 5, I love the Z Fold 8 Ultra. You can't tell me that the Z Fold 8 owners aren't opening there phones almost all the time. For my business needs, the Z Fold 8 Ultra "rocks the house"! I'm talking old or new school alike. I like the quick surfing of YouTube videos on the longer front screen. I got mine during the Pre-Launch and saved $1,350 off the full retail price. Do the math, that was a hard core awsome buy. I also like the regular Z Fold 8 but I really enjoy the versatility of my 8 Ultra.
I don't know what you talking about , but I love my 8 ultra phone i love to open it every time somebody sends me a text
Enjoyed the video. Personally I'm holding on to my Fold 6. It has S Pen support and no camera hole cutout on the inner screen. Two places Samsung fumbled, imo.
The Pitaka case would work nicely on the Fold 8 Ultra. It is ultra thin and adds magsafe to the device.
This is wrong. I made a huge mistake listening to these reviews because I had the fold 7 ultra. It's faster and has more storage. This phone keeps having lag spikes because I'm used to being able to do the things I am on fold 7. If you have a fold 7 ultra do not buy this. I realized my mistake when I tried to transfer all my data over to this phone and it wouldn't fit. Then games I used to play on fold 7 lags on fold 8.
I'm at the point that I think these are just paid advertisers.
3 fold owner. Absolutely awesome experience owning these. Even after iv killed my inner screen 2 years in, used the outside screen and phone for a couple more then got another. The sweet thing is your never breaking your phone in a way you lose everything or extremely rare. Even outside a case the phone is super durable and after a couple years the outside screen drops to couple hundred bucks and is very easy to change. I basically retire my old phone as bein plugged into a screen and becoming a extra screen for my gaming rig. My first folding device the flip 5g I literally would toss that thing full strength onto the concrete without a case after I replaced it broke the inside screen and was trying to break the outside glass and holy crap that thing took ALOT!
No S-pen no sale. Unless its $1200 or less…
I won't switch back to the Fold until there's a stylus built into the body. Compared to the Galaxy S series, the fact that the camera or display are slightly scaled-back doesn't bother me nearly as much as the lack of a stylus.
Not reactive sometimes when multitasking
