I hadn’t seen the preview until now, and I couldn't help but feel a deep ache upon seeing those images—and hearing His voice—saying, "Father, forgive them…" I love The Chosen*; this moved me to tears… and yet, no portrayal could ever fully capture all that our Lord truly suffered. And that makes me love Him even more. Every drop of sweat, every drop of blood, and the pain He endured for me. Jesus was perfect as a man… but sometimes we forget that He was God, too. A God who tore Himself apart to pay—by "offering a Son (who is Himself)"—the debt that humanity could never settle on its own. A creature that, through sheer mercy, also earned the right to be called a child. We forget that God is Holy, Holy, Holy. And Jesus allowed that holiness to be covered by all our sins, to the point where the Father could no longer bear to look at Him. We do not deserve it, we have not earned it, and yet we keep trying to do our own will. God gave us free will to choose whether or not to love Him; but we remain responsible for that decision. I *do want to love Him forever: to bow my knees for all eternity, thanking and worshipping Him for what He did for me… while others will choose to miss out on that great love, that boundless love.

Dallas, I was wondering, when you and Jonathan discuss past productions of the Jesus story, you never mention actor Robert Powell and the 1977 TV MiniSeries, “Jesus of Nazareth.” It totaled 8 hours, had the great stars of the day, Ann Bancroft, Laurence Olivier, Rod Steiger, James Mason, etc. Have you not seen it?
