A Los Angeles-area teenager who was critically injured last year in an electric bicycle crash is now speaking out about the dangers such bikes can pose.
Andrea Rankin said she still remembers the phone call she received on Aug. 26 last year after her daughter, Raquel Waters, was injured while riding a friend’s e-bike on a residential street.
“I picked up the phone and she said, ‘Rocky’s been in an accident, and the ambulance is here to take her,'” Rankin said.
Raquel, who was 14 at the time, suffered significant injuries in the crash.

Last year my kids teacher fell off one and did not have a helmet. Told my son to tell the teacher she is stupid. I have 13 year olds. They are not allowed to have one.

The truth is there are just as many accidents on regular bikes but now they're electric so they're trying to regulate them and get money from licenses and bulshit insurance because they just want to extract every bit of money that you will ever get from you. These bikes are any more or less dangerous than any other bikes. They just want to scare you into allowing them to charge you money to have these things. They're pissed off that thousands and thousands of people have dropped cars and went to e-bikes because it's cheap

These are not E bikes, they're E motorcycles.
Ebikes or bikes will never be safe. As long as there is distracted drivers. Ware a motorcycle helmet & pray before you ride. Pretend your a caveman & even car is a dinosaur trying to kill you. E bike safety should be a priority we need more bike lanes. Cars need to be finded more for distracted driving.
You should be wearing a full face motocross helmet at a minimum if you ride those things.
Government is always the problem and never the solution. Leave us alone.
