Andrew Weissman explained that the Supreme Court’s initial mail-in ballot decision was mainly about timing, saying the case was brought too early because the final Postal Service rule had not yet been issued, while a lower court later blocked that final rule for the midterms because the states could not realistically comply with it in time. He argued the issue is troubling because presidential elections are supposed to be run by the states, not the federal government, and warned that the rule would effectively let the executive branch interfere in voting in a way that raises serious concerns about partisanship and disenfranchisement. He also discussed why the three liberal justices wrote separately, suggesting Justice Jackson was addressing the broader public while Justices Kagan and Sotomayor focused more narrowly on legal strategy, and he predicted the rule would likely not be implemented for November, though other voting-related shenanigans could still occur.

@11:53 It's like self-defense in a fist fight… If you understand the other person intends to punch you, you don't have to wait for the first punch to land before you defend yourself.
How is NO one aware that Friday there was a NATIONWIDE internet outage?? USPS uses the internet to parcels to sort them to their routes.
Seems a lot suspicious that it was nationwide and that mail in ballots are on the line.
Yayyy!!! I simply adore Andrew Weissmann!!! Thank you for bringing him to explain!!! 🩵🩵🩵
Molly: your interjections are unneeded.

A two-thirds majority vote in the United States Senate is required to impeach a Supreme Court Justice.
Be sure to vote for the correct party in November.
The states run presidential elections, but under federal jurisdiction.
Molly needs to lower her tone and quit interrupting Andrew’s every sentence.
Start impeachment proceedings against Alito and Thomas, for a start.

Finally! Thank you, Molly. People never mention the misogyny and racism
10:40 there are huge swaths of the country that are so racist and/or sexist that they will not vote for a female presidential candidate, in a way that Dems have never seemed to understand
And the electoral college is fubar, so you win national elections on slim margins… & any teeny tiny reason matters for ppl to not vote for a particular candidate
Also worth pointing out that most G7 countries have had female heads of state… but basically 99% of those female leaders came from a Conservative Party
Bc the right have v few unbreakable foundational principles. So despite rampant sexism, republicans would probably vote for a GOP female candidate. But that same nuance doesn’t exist w Dems; many groups of Dem guys will not vote for a woman, period
Molly that breakdown of 2024 was epic and cogent. it gives insights as to the thinking of some Americans voting a psychotic criminal to the nation's highest office (knowing he was a convicted felon) and preventing said felon from being tried for insurrection and potentially for espionage in the Mar a Largo documents case
The conservative majority of the not so supreme court is bigoted, corrupt and bought and paid for, expecting them
to adhere to what would seem fair and legal is a pipe dream. They will continue put their thumbs on the scale for
the rich, pompous, misanthropic billionaires whose goal is to eliminate the middle class and create a permanent
underclass of repressed drones. I'm not sure the U.S. can recover from the last 20 years ;but, if it does I hope history
judges the current majority of scotus with the opprobrium, scorn and ridicule it so richly deserves.
I don't agree that people did not vote for Harris because of her colour, she was an absolute hopeless candidate, when she said she would not change anything biden did that was the nail in her coffin,I supported her but during the campaign I couldn't believe how bad she was as a candidate.
The scouts should be term limited,Thomas has never voted against anything trump wants,if trump wanted slavery back in America Thomas would vote for that, the court is a joke at this stage , completely political,a twelve year term should be the limit.

Dissolve congressional districts and render gerrymandering obsolete. Congressional districts do not strengthen representation; on the contrary, they weaken it. Barring that, every Democrat and every independent, including elected officials, should change their party affiliation to Republican and take over the party internally.
Molly – what the hell are you doing on Bill Maher's show? Why does any rational person go on that POS' show?
Molly J just gave me a creative idea: The Kafka X-mas Holiday special: elections in Amerika with January 3 as futuristic trial metamorphosis. Imagine flying insects raiding the Capitol Building to create a dark tunnel of love for holiday warm anal retention voting outcomes. Out-it-comes of the dark tunnel of foreboding love for all rioting insects. Will be wild!
